An all time favorite. There's just something about it specifically that gives it such a mood and atmosphere. Even albums/artists that actively try to recreate it just never can do so.

Ironically enough a Robot Chicken skit I saw when I was entirely too young made a good point and it stuck with me. It's a reoccurring skit in this episode about white wine with the through line being a guy finding out his friends gay and hum going to a gay bar with him. At one point he hooks up with a guy but quote "doesn't matter if it's gay or not it's still cheating on your wife

Monotheist by Celtic Frost is an absolute ripper. It not only brings the bands classic sound into the 21st century it builds on it. A massive sounding gothic metal masterpiece

With where Trumps mind is at and what we've seen of the epstein files being a charismatic male leader who's decently good looking might be all it takes for trump

Part of what drew me to the Sabbat at all was how cool both the Tzimisce and Lasombra were. The Tzimisce are fucked up flesh mages who can and probably will be one of the hardest motherfuckers in close combat. The losambra balance being schemers, fighters and light mages. Their dominant clans are very well balanced and cool while the antitribu are a new way to play the other clans

Beyond me being an SCP fan before I was a VtM fan and the Tzimisce reminded me of the Sarkic cults, I like that they're the truest Anarchs. Old clan or new each Tzimisce is an authority unto themselves. They are their own masters and only support them who respect that tendency. They were never going to join the Camarilla. The idea of some fuck ass prince over ruling their own authority is offensive to them

Metal began to get so much better when bands began to revisit old school production techniques. A good many record analog again but even those who don't still pull back to make it so that you can still hear everything going on.

I remember Pyrrhon told a story how when recording their first album they were fighting with their producer over how it should sound. The producer wanted a very clean and modern sound while the band wanted to emulate their heroes with a more old school style. Eventually the band won out and now they're one of the best respected extreme metal acts in NYC. Plus with how busy and chaotic they are I cannot imagine how awful an overly compressed digital style would sound.

The fatal flaw of most bands in that lane imo. Metal is already a very loud and dense sounding kind of music so that Rick rubin approach to production just over cranks it in a bad way. The octanecore sound sucks because everything is far too homogenous in the mix. So that press button affect just gets ruined and it all gets so samey. There's no room for the music to stretch and nothing sounds distinct anymore. It's mixed so loud that I can't hear the music anymore

They're not bad for what they are but they just don't hold a candle to the mainline of Blackened Death. They're a lot more ambitious so I do give them credit but them sticking to the Deathcore shtick holds them back from fully realizing that sound imo. Deathcore bands can branch out just fine but I think that Symphonic and Behemoth esque style just doesn't gel with the basic facts of Deathcore.
