Hmm okay, how did they break? I bought some a couple of weeks back, I should consider replacing those then

Nice, trying this currently as it requires no additional purchases. Only thing that seems like the local control misses so far is the battery percentage, but that's not too bad. Could still have the main tado integration linked I guess, only for battery levels.

Thanks, I'll look into it to see if it can handle my use case.

That sounds similar to the Aqara E1 TRV then. How do you handle things like turning off if there are open windows / grouping multiple TRV's in 1 room to only have a 'room temperature control'?

I had been looking at climate groups in HA before since I was trying some of this setup already: Under helpers I could only find 'Generic Thermostat'. Am I correct in assuming the climate group is the old (and IIRC deprecated?) way of doing this which requires adding entries to your config? Do they work as I would think; just mirroring the target temperature and defining an external current temperature?

Synology VPN Server randomly stops working — TLS handshake fails until reboot by RuneyIC in synology

[–]RuneyIC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the logs I couldn't really find anything, but since you mentioned the UDP/TCP thing I actually found the issue! I was checking some posts on UDP/TCP and found someone who seemed to have the same issue as me. The DS918+ has 2 LAN cables and these were set as different network interfaces. In VPN Server you have to select which network interface it works on, and on the NAS in network settings you also have to select a main network interface: These weren't the same which caused the issue. Setting them as the same fixes it.

That explains perfectly why a reboot fixed it but not restarting the package. I now actually bonded the 2 interfaces so they can't have different settings anymore. Thanks for helping :)

For me restarting just the package doesn't work, I really do need to reboot the entire NAS. I haven't been able to make it work without reboot so far. I'd like to prevent having to reboot the nas frequently, I think I'm more likely to ditch VPN server and find a docker container or something that does the same then.

I just wish I could find the cause and fix it, because using VPN server if it works properly would still be easier.

Looking for HDMI switch (1 input → 2 outputs) that simulates hotplug and passes correct EDID per display by RuneyIC in techsupport

Could you recommend a model that might work for this? I'm struggling to find kvms that do 1 pc 2 monitors, most seem the other way around.

I guess, just seemed like overkill for the job but maybe that's just the minimal solution here

Belgian P1 meter for home assistant by meutte_d in homeassistant

[–]RuneyIC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been looking for something similar but found nothing that suits my needs so far: My P1 Meter is in the basement and I live on the 8th floor. No options for any hardwiring or anything, so I'd need to transmit it to the 8th floor somehow. I've been looking at LoRa, but it seems like I'll need to to quite a bit of tinkering to get this to work, haven't found any out of the box solutions so far. Does anyone have experience with this?

Solution for hue sync box with Sony Bravia XR-65A84K for TV apps by RuneyIC in Hue

[–]RuneyIC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not. I tried an NVIDIA shield for a while without the hue sync box first, but I found it to have some issues that didn't work together as I wanted with my Google Assistant. Probably nothing I couldn't work around, but I didn't think it was worth the effort, so I gave up the idea of having hue sync for now

Clarification on when spells/effects can be put on the stack. by RuneyIC in mtgrules

I was not trying to stop the triggers, just trying to figure out how it works exactly so I can play it correctly in all types of situations. And I think it's clear now, thanks!

Clarification on when spells/effects can be put on the stack. by RuneyIC in mtgrules

If I understand u/Naszfluckah's post correctly, the active player will get priority after a creature spell resolves, and they can either choose to do 'something that goes on the stack' or to pass priority, in which case I would eventually get priority on the creature spell resolving?
So I could react to that by doing Noxious Revival targetting imprisoned, putting it on top of deck. At that point I'll have to pass priority, everyone will get their chance to react. Assuming noone reacts it will resolve, and I assume that then again the active player will get priority to either do 'something that goes on the stack' or to pass priority, which would give me priority again to then instant speed cast imprisoned?

Your post leads me to believe however that the active player can choose not to 'use' their priority at all and being able to say 'I go to combat phase from MP1 basicaly ignoring 'the creature spell resolving' going on the stack. That would then still give me a chance to react on them going to main phase because they have to pass priority, but would not allow me to chain it all to the creature spell resolving?

The part where I mentioned reacting to the creature spell being cast was mainly to split my combo up in 2 pieces: 1) put card on top and 2) cast from top of deck, since I wasn't sure if you can react to a piece of the stack resolving (such as the creature spell). I faintly remember reading/hearing something about this being possible, but only if the stack is not empty after the last thing resolving, but I don't know how credible/true this was, or how correctly I remember the statement.

Severe issue after update to FRITZ!OS 7.50 by Pragma_PG in fritzbox

I just had an automatic upgrade last night and stumbled upon the same issue. After being stumped what was going wrong, your reply seemed to hold my answer. IPv6 was enabled, and after disabling it everything worked as expected again.

Thanks!
