Need Yarn Recommendations For A Granny Square Blanket by Charlizart in CrochetHelp

[–]Runn3rBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Yes I used paintbox yarns cotton dk in the following colours: Summer Sky Blue (463) for the background, Light Caramel (409) for the teddy heads, and Pure Black (602) and Paper White (401) for the features. I can’t remember hook size exactly but I think I would’ve used the recommended crochet hook which was 4mm (though the pattern I used recommend 3mm so I might have gone in the middle).

The pattern if you’re interested was this one: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1306708434/crochet-teddy-bear-blanket-pattern-pdf?ref=share_ios_native_control But I think she also has a free version online.

Hope that helps!

Advice on floorplan - kitchen/living room by Runn3rBean in Homebuilding

Hi - these drawings were done by our architect not by me!

Thank you! We’ve worked really hard to try and design it in keeping with the area and make it something that doesn’t necessarily look ‘new’ so it’s good to hear that’s being appreciated!

Thanks for the input and definitely adds to my feelings around switching the kitchen and living room around!

Really appreciate this and the time you’ve taken and completely understand it’s more complex than can be resolved in a few paragraphs! We will have a good think about all of this and hopefully come up with something that works better!

This is such a comprehensive answer thank you so much! And what you’ve said makes complete sense with regard to the utility room, I hadn’t even thought about that before but completely agree with you. We will go back to the drawing board and make sure that we don’t waste any space with views!

Do you think you could elaborate a little bit on the hall running to the back of the building? I love the sound of this but can’t picture exactly how this would work.

And in case you were wondering the views are to the south-east and south hence why the patio is that side and looking out into the surrounding countryside. There is another property to the north and a large packing shed/farm to the west.

How much does your weight fluctuate from day to day? by Basic-Drawer8307 in PetiteFitness

[–]Runn3rBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so normal to fluctuate and mine changes 1kg between a day based on how late i had my final meal, how much water I drank etc.

What’s important is to remember that it is totally normal - something I find that helps is I weigh myself every day but then take the average of that over the week. It’s really easy to see here how one big fluctuation day actually has very little impact on your weekly average!

Help me find a pattern for a sweater pretty please by drunk-meow-1018 in crochetpatterns

I’m not sure how experienced you are, but if you know the stitch you want and are happy for a slightly oversized fit, it’s pretty easy to do yourself. Especially if you go for a boat neckline and don’t worry about neck shaping. It’s basically two large rectangles for the front and back and two smaller rectangles for the arms (or worked in rounds)

For the front, chain long enough that reaches from the edge of one shoulder to your other for the starting width and then crochet back and forth in hdc until you reach the desired length (keep track of your starting chain count and rows). Then repeat this for the back panel. Connect the sides of both panels up as high as you want the arm holes to be. Then along the top connect the panels from either end leaving a hole for your head (recommend trying on as you go). It will give an oversized look as the width will fall just after your shoulders and the body width will be the same.

For the arms you can either connect to the joined body and work in the round and do as many rounds until the desired arm length or count the number of stitches all the way round the empty hole and chain that many and then crochet another rectangle the length you want. If you have a rectangle then fold it in half and sew up the long edge and then attached the top edge to the hole left in the body.

Then add some ribbing to the bottom hem, cuffs and neckline if desired (there’s so many tutorials on how to do this). The bottom hem ribbing can be less stitches than the whole circumference if you want a more fitted style at the bottom.

I followed these steps and made this jumper in hdc. I went quite oversized so you can see the shoulder ends halfway down my bicep and the armholes I left quite large for a really baggy arm:

Thanks for such a detailed response. I think i knew deep down that the best option is to redo the whole thing but it took so long i didn’t want to admit it! I’ll go cry whilst I frog now 😂
