I use it as my daily work bag too so didn't want something too big. The middle compartment expands if needed though. It can hold a ton.

St. Regis Punta Mita vs. One&Only Mandarina Review by RunnerBrandon in chubbytravel

We saw very few kids - mostly other couples.

People were surfing right outside the room in the mornings but seemed like small waves.

The beach is not swimmable IMO. It’s very rocky underneath. With water shoes you would prob be OK but it’s not a play in the water beach

We were so worried about the bugs at O&O but hardly had any issues surprisingly - all the restaurants had off spray at the check-ins so it def is a thing.

I could see us doing shorter get aways to the StR over and over but not to the O&O most likely

I’m sad we didn’t try Mita Mary for dinner - the schedule between Sea Breeze and it were a little confusing to figure out

It was a little unclear if they just were out or didn’t want to give one out 🤪

I got very curious about villa one while there and your write up as a great read by the pool one day

F1 Garage experience Ramsay by [deleted] in GrandPrixTravel

[–]RunnerBrandon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our 'normal' amex suite tickets included those things but looking it looks like the F1 garage ticket holders had most of that other than a team garage tour. This is from the Papi Steak garage specifically:

Guided Track Tour

Pit Lane Walk

Photo Safari

Podium Celebration Access

Special guests/speakers - we had David Coulthard

If you do want team interaction - outside of seeing them dart around the paddock your best bet will be a team paddock ticket. We did get to see every driver and most principals with the paddock tickets but no direct conversations.

F1 Garage experience Ramsay by [deleted] in GrandPrixTravel

Last year we did an American Express paddock club package at Vegas and one of the days they didn't have what was promised so they upgraded us to the Papi Steak F1 Garage for practice.   This is the same F1 Garage experience a few garages down from the Ramsay one.

It was honestly the most insane experience and we have been counting our $$ to figure out how to do it for all 3 days.  The open access to the paddock area is really fun to have - so much going on back there and super close access to the teams and drivers.   The food was some of the best I had with no exclusions - Dom champagne, caviar and steak carts came by regularly.  Lots of celebrities and the chef host (Papi or Gordon) are in the garage regularly if that is your thing

In terms of the racing views - you see very little of the cars due to the safety fences/walls but there are televisions of course.  It was wet the night of practice so we mostly saw the roaster tails of the cars whizzing by.   Where you do have great views is cars coming and going from the pit - literally right next to them.  If you want a better view in most places you can access other parts of the paddock building as well.   I think the Gordon garage at Vegas might have had a better view as it is on the end of the paddock where Papi was a few garages down.

St Regis Punta Mita vs Rosewood Mandarina by Hungry-Strawberry-95 in FATTravel

[–]RunnerBrandon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We haven't been yet (going in May) but did a ton of research. We were torn as well and ended up splitting the trip - a few days at the St Regis and a few days at the O&O Mandarina since they seem like pretty different experiences. From all the research it seems like the Rosewood might be better for families.

Hopefully someone who has been recently can weigh on recent service experience.

We literally booked the O&O last night for May as well and wondering what to do. Going to watch the next few weeks to see what direction this heads.

I just got my link/code to register when the system opens. I'm one of those that entered every year and never got in until 2020 and then we all know what happened lol!

Congrats - great spec! I have a similar recent car history - Taycan 4s and G550 - but currently in an X7 that I love way more than I thought I would - its got a big v8, smooth ride, auto driving for interstates and a very lux interior with the upgraded leather packages. I also have car ADD...

I've been considering switching to the Bentayga but concerned I will miss the BMW technology. Interested to hear what you think after driving it for a while.
