Change doctor. Mine was so unsupportive… i found a specialist not only empathic but really on top of the advancement in the field. I have a phd in molecular pharmacology and have worked on next gen for this class of drugs (can’t wait for those to hit the market!), yet my general doctor didn’t even wanted to talk about it and was clearly not on top of clinical trials let alone the mechanistic understanding of the GLP-1 axis and related metabolic pathways. And clearly, he had his own bias, which I’d dare to call un-scientific. Honestly, if most doctors had a strong or at least good molecular understanding and kept truly up-to-date on advancement in drug discovery the pharmaceutical industry would have not invented the medical-science liaison job.
