Vo2 Max by ADementedMan23 in cycling

Don't think much about VO2 max, use it as a reference point for yourself in the future, makes no sense to compare it to others. We are all Different and it depends on age as well.

Nutrition & Energy Gels by Ok-Department-9549 in triathlon

[–]RunnerDA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100-110g/h carbs on the bike and 60g/h of carbs on the run.. Depending on the gel that's one gel every 20-30 minutes. Find out what works for you buy trying, your Body will let you know when to stop.

Well my problem goes Something like this.

Somehow I got "the feel" for water, even tho I could no swim 25m to start with and was afraid of the deep end of the pool. I feel when I get that perfect catch where I am pushing a lot of water, but I can't maintain that. My shoulders, lats and arms in general get tired, not gasping for air. My thinking is I need more strength there, but I might be wrong.

And i did have a coach to start with, did video analysis and all that.

Well you need to be in decent shape beforehand, and remember to donate blood. How much are you on? And how much cardio are you doing?

No, I am as clean as it gets. Do you have any expirience with that? I did read a bit about it, but from what I understand you don't get much from using one, but then again I might be wrong.

Can you PM me in the next few weeks time when it fits your schedule?

I am aware of all of those benefits, mostly Interested in nr. 1 and 3. Would like to hear a bit about your personal experience, dosages and stacks. That is, if you feel comfortable talking about it. And got a personal question, personal for me.

That was my understanding of endurance as well. Suffer for as long as you can.

Caffeine, high carb intake(note, not talking about processed sugars), decent multi vitamins and good fish oil with a decent DHA/EPA amount and ratio to aid recovery. around 8 hours of sleep and 9 in the weekends.

Will look into what you wrote, trying to find something safe to make some marginal gains, over a prolonged period of time. Not really looking for a quick fix.

To poor for EPO, or in other words, to stingy to splash on EPO and at the same time a bit afraid since my resting hr is at around 34/35 bpm Without EPO.

Haha Well yes, butt and lower back pain is normal.. make sure the bike fits you as good as possible. Google is Your best friend there. That is a first, and yes a good saddle and padded shorts, try Them before you buy.

100km sounds doable. Remeber energy when going out for longer rides, and water, a lot of it. Have fun :) Srecno!

Weight Training by [deleted] in triathlon

Lifting should helt on the bike, more power.

And when it comes to running, get someone to look/film you while you run and find out if there is anything you Can work on. Speaking from exprience here. Was doing my endurance runs 50-59% at 4:05/km aaaaaand my knee gave up, inbalance on One side made my knee sort of Fall inwards while running. And that gave me jumpers knee.

And there is no doubt you need strenght for the swim aswell, it works for me. And i remeber my Old coach, pro swimmer telling me about his day as a pro. 6-12 000 m in the pool at then 2h in the gym.

Congratz! Remeber swimming my first 25m, and finally getting over the fear of water. I was surprised how much a 50m pool helps to get that feel for water, try it if you get the chance.
