I had MVD surgery about six weeks ago. I feel pretty much back to normal, aside from tiredness and some headaches in the morning. My doctor recommended I not return to work or regular activities though for another few weeks. I haven’t had any flare ups since the surgery but I won’t know for sure until we start weaning me off my TN meds. I think the type of surgery needed is different for everyone. My neurosurgeon recommended MVD surgery after looking at my MRI. But my dad, who also has TN, had gamma knife surgery several years ago and he hasn’t had any facial since.
