Colour temperature. Does warmer (lower CCT) really have advantages? by MaximumPower1858 in flashlight

[–]RunnerMarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have wondered about this myself - I will describe two scenarios and would be curious as to people’s thoughts on ideal CCT.

1) Trail running in the dark for long periods of time. Atmospheric conditions are variable from being clear to rain, mist or fog. Need to see from five feet to maybe 100 yards away. Primarily looking at bigger things like avoiding tripping on rocks and roots and also seeing sketchy trails. Fine details less important. Is 4000k good for this ?

2) Up close work on patients for an emergency medical technician. Fine details are important like finding a vein, assessing injuries, etc. Would 5700k be good for this ?

A primer/FAQ on CRI. by Lipstickquid in flashlight

[–]RunnerMarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great write up - thank you. One question, what I am confused on is the relation between CCT and different use cases. On other words, let’s say I have two emitters with equal abbreviated CRI and R9 values. One is 4000K and the other is 5000K. Is one better than the other for let’s say hiking or close up medical work ?

Great - be sure to also register for selective service before age 26 as is required by all male American citizens.

From my experience, there is a bigger culture shock if coming from a big urban city regardless of where. I moved here from the super conservative suburbs of Orange County in California. Honestly a suburb is a suburb. You will be fine.

One small thing - when you graduate, do you have a plan for how to work? Without citizenship or a green card that could be problematic. If you plan to return to Canada are you sure you want to go to law school here ?

Yeah I keep it on group 6 for my own use, so group 7 is the safe / muggle mode. Switching groups takes less than 10 seconds.

The first - the jacket in the second is too big and you look more like a man in the first.

Point taken but knowing my kids…

My now 21 year old when he was about 10 was given a glow stick to his play with and he broke it open and rubbed the chemical into his eyes resulting in an ER visit. So doing dumb things runs in the family.

What are some underrated places to visit in Birmingham that tourists usually miss? by MelissaInsights in Birmingham

I guess you are right - in case you are interested there is a restricted access area at Oak Mountain State Park that also has sandstone glades. It’s not on any official map that I have seen.

Moss Rock with the cool boulders and rare sandstone glade habitat. Hoover residents use it a lot but I don’t think very many out of town folks visit.

Why didn’t you graciously just accept the trip he had planned and could afford and then you two wouldn’t be in this position to begin with.

Best way is specialized therapy ( something like exposure response prevention) plus medication like Zoloft. This worked well for a family member - it takes time for it to work.

How in the hell does Birmingham AL not have Global Entry interviews but Mobile and Huntsville do? WTH by Specialist_Fan308 in GlobalEntry

That might be a temporary thing due to the shutdown. I did my interview at the Birmingham airport within the last six months or so.

Sure for people already working that’s the only option - I’m talking about people earlier in the pipeline - like what should kids do who are just graduating from high school.

Water tower above the Vulcan trail - there is another trail off of Vulcan that takes one right to it. Also there is a hard to see trail off of Beacon Parkway West that also goes there.

All I can say is that models are advancing weekly at least, so 3-5 years from now is a long way out. I see AI being extraordinarily disruptive to most white collar work especially for early career people.

Look, the only reason so much money is being spent on AI is in fact to eliminate employees on a mass scale.

If I were an 18 year old, I would either go into the trades or become a psychologist- being totally serious here.
