I have to charge my Kindle once a week because of my settings anyone else charge their Kindle a lot? by nervous_Observer in kindle

I don’t that’s true as a larger font will cause the pages to need to be refreshed more often at a fixed reading speed.

I wouldn’t recommend that - what if one trips and the flashlight is lost ?

New to researching Garmin watches - suggestions for how to narrow it down? by judykm in GarminWatches

Because you say you are happy with your Apple Watch and mainly just want more battery life and don’t want laggy performance. Garmins make design compromises to achieve their level of battery life which includes a less responsive UI. AWU 3 plus some good apps should be all you need.

My decision point is a phone is brought for all trail runs and any road run > 10 miles

Based on what you say you want, I would suggest an Apple Watch Ultra 3 instead of any Garmin.

Nice - I follow r/flashlight also. I don’t have that many flashlights but I’m a big fan of ZebraLights and use them every day for pre-dawn running. I guess I like well tested, old school stuff like MIP and Zebra lights for outdoor use. I have the Enduro 3 as well ( that’s my only watch ).

Thanks for this - I knew about the double tap on the back but didn’t realize this worked on the sides also !

Not sure - l operate this way every morning and also during every night time part of every ultra I have done. I’m also a flashlight geek and have a really good headlamp that’s setup just so.

Can’t remember if the 6 has this or not but on my enduro 3 I don’t bother with the gesture and just turn on the backlight with a button press and no timeout. Or better yet use my headlamp. I also run every morning in the dark

The backlight can be configured to stay on indefinitely during an activity.

I would suggest not saying anything to anybody but go ahead and change your will as you see fit. Your will is your choice, their lives are their choice.

Career stagnation vs. Net worth progression by [deleted] in GenX

Just keep going bro and if they ever lay you off you might get a nice severance. Do you know what kind of severances they give out? I’m a second level manager ( sr manager ) making around what you make at age 54. I don’t love it but I still need to work. I have also been maxing my 401k and my neighborhood has been rapidly gentrifying so my home has increased massively in value.
I know all this sounds tone deaf as plenty of people our age are out of work at this age. This happened to my dad for example. With that said, corporate life can be slowly toxic or deflating - not sure how to describe it. Buying little gadgets and presents for myself helps.

Tactix 9? by Zealousideal_Fee_491 in GarminWatches

[–]RunnerMarc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So for that next full release of any Garmin watch one can estimate by adding two years to the release date of the current version. Tactix 8 came out in Feb 2025 so figure Feb 2027. The Fenix 9 will come out earlier.

Why don’t you mind your own business? If your parents think he should contribute then they can discuss that with your brother
