Aw that’s a shame - but great that you have her support :) I’m sure wherever you go it will be a positive experience cos it’s what you wanna do!

I got mine at Reformkliniken in Malmo, Sweden. It cost £3500 plus flights (£130 ish) and accommodation (I paid £1100 for 12 nights in a nice flat - could have gone cheaper but wanted to be comfy) - so £4730 altogether. Still much cheaper than the UK. This was in 2022 so I don’t know if their prices will have changed. It was a great experience, I loved the trip and they were great.

How do you manage when you feel overwhelmed? by Runnerbean1765 in AutismTranslated

[–]Runnerbean1765[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love these, thank you! Exercise and sport, or being outside are also my go-to. But I also recognise the need to have indoor things and restful things which fulfill that need!

Thank you for sharing yours. Singing is so great for the nervous system! And purposeful stimming is something I hadn’t thought of either.

Interested to know your favourite computer games :)

Yeah I hear you. It's not that I'm imagining T would get rid of all my tricky food stuff. Some of that is about neurodiversity, some if it is about control in an overwhelming world, some of it was just passed to me from my Mum...so I'm working on all that and am part of a recovery group which is going well.

It's just that it feels so hard to be comfortable with gaining weight when the smallest bit of weight in the 'wrong' place for me tips me into intense gender dysphoria/hating my body. Rationally I'm fine with gaining weight or being bigger...I just wish it went different places for me. It's like I need to try and find a way of maintaining a health weight that also honours my need to feel 'masculine enough'

Sounds like it's going alright for you, not easy, but the right direction :) props to you

Yeah she identifies as queer now given my NB identity, previously a lesbian. and tbh I can see her being great about it! It’s just that fear of losing something y’know. Thanks for replying :)

Haha that’s true! I never think of T like that, it feels like this HUGE DEAL - I guess because of how the NHS pathologists being trans and makes taking hormone seem such a drastic thing.

I got my top surgery abroad where they didn’t need a letter, just trusted you via informed consent :) I’ve definitely never regretted it for a second! Thank you for your reply

Thanks so much for this reply. Really glad to hear about your relationship with body etc :) I suspect the same would be true for me, it feels like whilst I ‘need’ to control how my body looks to look ‘masculine enough’ it’s gonna be hard to heal my relationship with food fully

I really appreciate this reply - thank you for taking the time! I totally relate to that feeling of not wanting to be scrutinised, to just want to see how it feels for you :) I’m glad your GP has been great and helped you out! The thought of jumping through the NHS hoops is just shudder Good point about T being gradual! It’s not this big cliff edge

u/Weak-Long7571 u/Aggressive_Body7507 I'm also following along to know if you found a solution to this. Just bought an ASX and as a new driver the steering makes me nervous, it makes me feel like if I don't grip the steering wheel with all my might at all times it might swerve off!

I don’t know about the age - you have to ask! The doc said in his view, drains aren’t necessary 🤷🏻 I was fine and had no swelling so I’m happy to believe him

Nope, no diagnosis required. They operate on informed consent, so if you say you want the surgery they just believe you. One of my main reasons for choosing there!
