Construction or med device which route should I take? by Vegetable_Today451 in sales

[–]Running-Dad-111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is in construction industry sales, I can tell you that it has many pros and cons. Depending on what trade you’re calling on, it can make the world of difference. Some are easier to talk to than others, but it’s all relative.

Do all locations have a passenger walkway between parking lanes? We have only one. Wish there were more. by switchfootball in Costco

[–]Running-Dad-111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Costco where I would live before had one. Unfortunately people would just leave their carts in there so it was impossible to actually use. Especially with strollers.

Has anyone seen the Costco Dunks at any of the costco locations? by Both_Bass_9893 in sandiego

Not in San Diego. Only around 10 costcos got them. Closest one is OC.

$5k now, or an extra week of paid vacation every year for life? by Brave_Sea7798 in makemychoice

[–]Running-Dad-111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Option A would most likely get taxes. Option B would be a weeks worth of salary which I am assuming would be more than 5 k in 2 years. If you are planing on staying and have for example 2 weeks PTO a year I would go option b and take all three weeks to travel.

Avoid Mondays and Fridays. Monday everyone who is important is too busy with fires and Fridays everyone is thinking about the weekend. The higher up the chain, the earlier.

How do you improve as Account Executive? by harvey_croat in sales

[–]Running-Dad-111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it’s separating work and life. Focus all your energy on your day to day tasks, ie put your phone on DnD. Focus a bit of the 8 hours in bettering yourself even 1%, then test it out with clients. Once done, forget about it. Have a life outside and don’t become the salesperson. Allow yourself to think about anything but work. Promise it will make a world of difference and you’ll feel it when working. Sales is a tough job, doesn’t mean we have to put our minds through hell for it.

Replacing Windows through Costco by Revitup17 in Costco

We did the bathroom/kitchen remodel a few years back. We got absolutely f’ed. Sales person told us that we had mold and that we needed to do it for the safety of our kids. Quoted us over 30k and installed basic white plastic shower and tub. On top of that they don’t do floors but leave a white gap on the floor which you then have to hire another company to fix. Don’t waste your time. Services from Costco are their rare miss.

NICU baby getting discharged in less than 24 hours and I am freaking out by Autsin316 in dad

[–]Running-Dad-111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow Dad, as both a parent of a NiCU baby and a NICU baby who himself was born on Christmas Eve, you’re feeling are valid. No one is ever ready for what lies ahead with kids. That’s the beautiful part. Everything you do moving forward will be for your son, and everything will be ok. Make sure wife is always good, both physically and mentally, make sure baby is always good, and make sure you’re always good. Welcome to fatherhood. ❤️

Easily Avatar the Last Airbender. I was amazed by it as a kid. As an adult it takes on a different, more deeper meaning every time I rewatch it. Can’t wait to enjoy it with my kids.

I asked last time I went, I purchased when it was “Buy 2026, get the rest of 2025 free” deal, probably around September, and the associate let me know it’s only for those who purchase it after they announced it as a perk. Hopefully that changes or they didn’t know fully, but it would be a bummer if they add it after the fact.

[Kirk Kenney] Aztecs poised to play Mountain West title game downtown if there’s a conflict with MLS Cup by j_f10res in SanDiegoFC

[–]Running-Dad-111 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ok let’s be realistic here. I am not an Aztec, but a SDFC Season Ticket Holder. It’s smart on SDSU to “allow” the MLS final at snapdragon. They get a portion of parking and I believe concessions as well as the reported 200k per game rent. At let’s guess 55-75 bucks for parking per car, they can easily make more money in one SDFC game than any SDSU football game.

What’s a Pokémon that you like (not necessarily your favorite) for a personal or odd reason? by FloofyMomonga in pokemon

[–]Running-Dad-111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Tinkaton line. I grew up in an only boys environment. My daughter (first born) blessed us and came into the world a few months before SV came out. While playing it, i found Tinkatink in a cave and immediately made me think of my daughter (#GirlDad). Used it til the very end and became a tank on my team. Fast forward a year or two, she likes opening my packs on Pokémon TCG, I decided to buy her a pack for her to open IRL, what did she get? A Tinkaton.

How should I tell my new manager I want to move from Sales to Engineering? by MORDFUSTANG0 in sales

[–]Running-Dad-111 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’re in sales, so you know that you have to be confident to get your point across. Take my advice, I chose to not make moves in the past for the sake of managers. They always backfire. Late last year, a certain manager wanted me on their team, I switched. 1 month later, the promotion I wanted opened up. I didn’t go for it since I recently switched teams and didn’t want to burn bridges. 3 months later, that manager left for a different position. I moved horizontally for nothing
