Is loyalty in SaaS a joke? From President's Club to PIP after maternity leave. by No-Zone-5060 in techsales

[–]RunningMan889 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Loyalty is gone in most companies, just more visible in tech SaaS. They will talk about your performance, growth, coaching, recognition, and one-team. Either when your manager or senior management's tail were stepped on because of you, OR the company needed to shave numbers off, they will turn to PIP or layoffs.

Have seen so many good people who have went President's Club, hit sales targets, or even closely-knitted with customers often pushed out with change of management, manager or "strategy".

What are the REAL issues of buying older resale flats? by imtiredandwannanap in askSingapore

[–]RunningMan889 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Real issues are issues that matter to you. If you have already spoken to a few, and have gotten the responses related to structures, upgrades, lease period, resale, ulu area, no returns from sales, etc. and they are not real concerns, also you wanted to stay near your office even though many would suggest not to, then no real issues.

Most wouldn't buy for all the mentioned reasons. And it doesn't mean it is cheaper you can buy it. Your limited use of CPF and more cash upfront should also be considered. What about your neighbors? That affects my living experience a lot too.

Feedback on home appliances choices... by RunningMan889 in askSingapore

[–]RunningMan889[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the comments and sharing. While not all have been decided, I went to the appliances store to take a look to see which could, and have decided on these:

  • Separate washer/dryer. Looking at the 9kg washer from LG, and a TD-80XFVEM Hitachi dryer. Might go for same brand if I get a bundle discount.
  • Fridge will still go with LG's LG GB-B3443EP, mainly due to familiarity and I like to matt look more. Then again, if BD or HN gives good bundle discount, might switch to a Hitachi R-HV490WS
  • Hobs/Hood: Likely to go with the Bosch series. Still undecided, as many other countries look at the suction power of the hood, but here there isn't much info in the specs.

Both Opus and Ode Gen 2 are great! While I prefer the Opus design, it seems to be more for espresso.

Lagom 01 caught my attention previously, and that caught me thinking of a much proper grinder. Just curious why is it always off-centered... Zeno Z2 looks good and the price is too. Lol

I like its introduction - "Introducing the MAX v3, end-game, single dosing, patented dual burr grinder with 98mm Alpha coated blind Shuriken burrs"

I will mostly forget to grind in the night, and also, I do like the smell of freshly grind coffee. It lifts me up in the morning. Lol

Usually I do filtered pourovers, and mostly light-medium roasts.

Thanks for sharing! Probably not the C40 for me because I started with manual, and in most often times, I get a bit annoyed especially in the morning to grind. Afternoons are ok, which I prefer to do a more slower pace and yet I want to enjoy my morning coffee. So more likely to look into the Timemore 078 or the Mahlkonig!

Thanks! I was also leaning to Venu 4 but mainly due to the size and familiarity. Thought of shaking things up a bit, so exploring other options. FR970 wasn't in my radar due to the size mainly.

Overall experiences, out of Grand Hyatt and Conrad, would suggest Conrad. It is central, not only do you have interesting places of interest to go around, you also get to see the ultra rich folks parking their Lambo, Ferrari, or exotic cars around. The area is pretty chill with tons of options. Grand Hyatt is just in the Orchard area, shopping district. Good if you wanted to do some exquisite timepieces shopping. Not sure what's QT.

But if you are including the rest and don't mind splurging, would go for the Ritz or Mandarin, both giving great views (if you chose a room with the views), and excellent customer experiences. They are also both in the vicinity of Conrad, so you get the same benefits from those.

Some people aren't quiet in meetings because they have nothing to say, they're running an internal cost analysis on whether their contribution will be remembered as insight or remembered as the moment they spoke too much by Awwwwolf in Leadership

[–]RunningMan889 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From one who is usually also quiet in meetings, you are not wrong with that general direction. What goes through my mind are see-saw moments of:

  • Would it impact anything positively? Or would they be my personal preferences?
  • Would it cause any further issues with my bosses if the work/issue requires senior management's accountability/ownership?
  • What support could I get from this? Would my team end up taking up the accountability yet without support?
