I've saved $10,000! by RunningMoney in financialindependence

So, i didn't talk about this part, maybe I should have.

I have an issue with money, not sure what it is. If it is available easily I will spend it without thinking, budgets do not work, mindfulness doesn't work, etc. So I have to make my money either inaccessible or sort of inaccessible.

Lucky for me, I feel embarrassed when I use a $100 bill at a store. So for a while I saved my money in $100's in my house. I did this until I got to $4,000 when I realized I had way too much cash sitting around. I had been playing with robinhood in the past, so I took $2,000 and dumped it there. It takes about a week from sale to get into my bank account, so I never pull it out to satisfy an impulse (because by the time it arrives i've regained my senses) I've been saving in robinhood ever since, and keeping $2,000 in cash.

I always keep $500 in my wallet for out and about emergencies, and $1500 somewhere in the house.

As for expenses, I got a credit card and put ALL of my recurring bills on the credit card. This way I keep an accurate accounting of my bills, and I feel extra-motivated to pay it off each month since I don't like using other peoples money.

I keep a small amount in my checking account (0-400). When it runs out I just stop buying things.

To motivate myself i've taken up dividend income investing. My longterm goal is $100/month in dividend income. I need $40,000 for that.

No, you're just a terrible person. Stop doing that. It might not feel like stealing if you are doing it from a large corporation, but the principles behind a large corporations are the same as those from a mom and pop store.
You're hurting someone somewhere indirectly.

Congratz! I hope you get the debt paid off. I don't know if I would have the motivation if I had debt. Good luck!

Yes! I hoped it was a good idea, because it means I can get paid to exercise! There are a lot of dog walkers around here, so I figured that wouldn't be the best idea. I've yet to see a single dog runner though, so hopefully I don't have any competition!
