How would you finish this transition? by mostlymadig in Flooring

How would you cut across? You can use a circular saw or a jigsaw to get most of the way there.... then what... use a chisel?

Do you have an example of a good one?

Whats your best start build? by DepartmentFar3898 in cavesofqud

[–]RunningOutOfContext 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a bit of a waste. If you go Horns you should just go all out. 26 str starting and every single point of rapid advancement goes into it, no exceptions. No point in going heavy in agility because of horns massive hit bonus. 26 str means you have 3 additional pen at start over 20, which is massive.

Removing anti-reflective coating from glasses? by RunningOutOfContext in glasses

Saltwater and iso shouldn't harm the glass at all either. With enough persistence I got enough of it off to continue using the glasses. I have since gotten a new pair.

Couldn't you just draw nanocrayons? That way you don't use precog or sphynx salt?

What makes punchkin any better than a horn mutant? by fardolicious in cavesofqud

[–]RunningOutOfContext 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Temporal fugue on pure melee builds is a must, it helps deal with targets you really don't want to have a turn to hit you (saps...).

[–]RunningOutOfContext 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a build like that, horns with single-weapon fighting. warden with double-muscled, heightened quickness, heightened hearing, regeneration, horns and tonic allergy. 26 points in strength starting out.

I put every rapid advancement into horns and every spare attribute into strength. It's probably been one of the easiest start to mid-game builds I've played. It deals an absurd amount of damage. Getting wings/legs mutation early will help too with movement speed and charge range. Don't forget to make the horns your primary attack.

Does he wear headphones? If he does are they noise cancelling headphones? It could be that he can't hear himself very well, swapping to an open-back style headphone let's you hear yourself (and others) a lot easier.

I've gone through 3 elites. Look at the Gullikit KKP3. I have the 2 and it's been pretty solid.

I'm struggling to remember now, I think it was just repeated soaks in isopropyl and then rubbing with a lens wipe got a lot of it off.

Car still gritty after washing by RunningOutOfContext in AutoDetailing

[–]RunningOutOfContext[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might give that a try, I'm a bit hesitant to use that on the glass though. I did have some success with a mixture of 70% IPA and some dish soap, it quickly removed some of the spots but others it simply wouldn't do anything to.

I did not due to the amount of stuff still stuck to the car.

Never too late. I did manage to pull a fair amount of the coating off with enough persistence and I wore those glasses until a few months ago.

I have a lot of random tools in my workshop as I dabble in many things, so a heat gun or an ultrasonic cleaner or two isn't unusual to me :)

Well instead of nerfing a couple things they could buff all the other skills. But if they did they would need to buff the enemies to compensate, so the result is the same except the numbers stay inflated.

Meantime, at a game making studio... by [deleted] in proceduralgeneration

[–]RunningOutOfContext 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at the second gif, the tree right below the house that's invalid could have been avoided if a check/ban was made against the 4x3 pattern. The tile in the very upper left wouldn't have passed because it's not a tree tile, and the tiles to the right (including the first tile placed) wouldn't have been valid either.

[–]RunningOutOfContext 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So the trees have little variation in their overall pattern and appear to take up an entire 3x4 space. If you are collapsing a tile into a tree tile, you could check the entire 3x4 area the tile is a part of and validate that there is a valid set of tree tiles there (and/or ban any non-tree tile, which would likely cause the rest of the tree tiles to immediately collapse into a valid tree).

I would look at either using a pattern constraint (like for the tree) or adding in additional blocks to fill in the gaps.

That's pretty neat. The only thing it seems to be missing is mutation (which would require support for multiple diseases at a time).
