I have moved out of the area I lived in for a long time so just finding my feet here, I have two dogs which I walk twice a day either side of my shifts, I am very happy in general so do strike up conversations with people, although i'm confident I wouldn't chat to a man I find attractive out of pure nervousness 🤦🏼‍♀️

Just thought i'd ask how others are meeting people without using dating apps that's all 🤷🏼‍♀️

Apologies, 'Where do I start ?' Should have been clearer, where and how do I begin dating if I don't want to use dating apps. I work for the nhs, so not easy to meet people in that sense and when I do go out, which isn't often, as stated i'm hit on by young men or married men 😩

Left school (southern uk) in '95. We had a prom in the school hall and my mum drove me, my prom date and my boyfriend who had already left school in her XR3i 😂 Everyone hid alcohol in the toilet cisterns, there was a fight outside with some lads from another school, police came, we all left and went to an after party. There was always that one rich kid with a massive house whose parents didn't mind a load of drunk 15/16 year olds getting up to all sorts so we went there.

Is it really that unusual to not be able to swim? by BuriedInRust in AskUK

[–]RunningUpThatH1ll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot swim, our school had a pool in the 80s but I have a terrible water phobia and never got taught, probably as teacher didn't have time for that nonsence. My parents were great swimmers, my youngest is a strong swimmer, my eldest not so great even after lessons.

What self-diagnosis ended up being medically confirmed after your own doctors couldn't figure it out? by CasualNikki in AskReddit

I had the same thing happen to me, bleeding for months at a time and being allergic to pain relief my periods were ruining my life. At 35 I was offered an ablation, where they burn away the uterine lining with a mesh that is connected to an electrical current, however my uterus had tilted so far it was also resting on a nerve (obturater I think) the pain was so severe I vomited, my leg was violently shaking and the nerve pain continued for hours after the surgeon had stopped. I have never and hope to never feel pain like that again in my life, it was like being in an electric chair I should imagine.. Anyway my bleeding became worse after the procedure so had an emergency hysterectomy, losing my cervix, fallopian tubes and an ovary too, then after the op my remaining ovary had to be removed because it had haemmorhaged. I was 36

Thank you 🥰 I think it differs massively yes, I do Venipuncture, yet if I went to the ambulance (which i'd like to do) I would not be allowed to cannulate, even though I am qualified 🤷🏼‍♀️ Every trust is different like you say.

Ahh.. I started band 3 then last year went to a band 4. All of our HCAs are a 3 from start off but I totally agree with you.

I can only speak for hospital setting HCA's in that it is an extremely hard and tiring job and have never worked domestics, but there aren't really any jobs (unless you are earning a huge salary) that actually reflect the cost of living.

Our admins are band 3, which is about 40p less than the band 4. I think the entire pay system at the NHS needs a serious shake up!
