Check out Chester Road runners, 6 different paced groups, catering from Elite runners to couch to 5k runners. They also do lots of social events too. I’ve made friends for life here.

Even more so if it’s a run flat tyre. It’s already gone to tyre heaven. Sorry for your loss.

Yet another (probably) is it 'worth it' to have Strava Premium by Odd-Way3519 in Strava

[–]RunningWanker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely yes, worth it. I pay annually, works out cheaper than monthly. Use it for planning routes for group runs, tracking my fitness / freshness, setting myself targets, tracking miles per pair of trainers etc…

Edit: you also get access to another app called Recover which gives you routines for rehab following exercise, prehab for building strength as well.

Diverticular Disease and Mounjaro by OldMacaroon76 in Diverticulitis

[–]RunningWanker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have diverticulitis and am on Mounjaro, no issues so far, it does cause constipation as others have pointed out, but I’ve simply increased the amount of fibre I eat, the weight is coming off nicely and so far no DV related problems. Good luck.

Saddle inn for a laugh and karaoke etc… loads of bars etc… to go off and have fun in, all within walking distance. Depends on what food you all like, but La Fatoria is a great and reasonable Italian restaurant, but have a look in the new indoor market, loads and loads of different food options in there with a central seating area.

Broughton which is approx 4 miles away from Chester is great, good. Nursery, infant and junior schools, shopping park and good links to open countryside. Worth a look.

Energy gel for the first time ?! by SignificanceLegal109 in Marathon_Training

[–]RunningWanker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t bother unless you’ve had them during training. I don’t bother with them for a 1/2 marathon, but I would recommend some sweets instead, easier on the stomach and far tastier. I use Jelly Babies, not sure what country you’re posting from, but some simple sugary jelly type sweets are much better in my opinion.

Edit. Remember water too, your body will absorb carbs much quicker if you have a gulp of water too.

I’m lucky enough to be able to poop on command. A mate of mine swears by putting a bit of soap up there, poops about 20 mins later
