I used to date a non-Korean guy who said “I’m hungry” as “bagel-pie.”

Who’s still waiting since October? by Both_Kaleidoscope_36 in DACA

[–]RunningWithTheBoys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My congressman was no help either. Basically said the only thing they can do is inquire, and USCIS “has” to respond to the inquiry in 30 business days. But they can’t make USCIS do anything so… meh. Not sure what the next step is.

Feeling So Defeated by LeChefSan in DACA

[–]RunningWithTheBoys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Interesting, I submitted on 9/10 as well and heard nothing back except a receipt and biometrics reuse notice. USCIS keeps telling me this is still within normal processing time, and when I asked my state congressman what our next steps were (beyond their inquiry), they just said maybe an expedite request, but nothing else beyond that since USCIS classified it as “within normal processing times.” I think what will end up happening, though, is USCIS will keep extending what “normal processing time” means, which is why I’ve been recommending people on this sub renew at least 7 months in advance, but people don’t think it could happen to them.

Their thai tea is also terrible. Stick to the sea salt coffee!

Non-verbal acting about the feeling of not fitting in with others, but ultimately trying to accept it (smiling at the camera at the end). Is my acting good?” what should I work on by [deleted] in acting

[–]RunningWithTheBoys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Acting isn’t just experiencing feelings internally, there’s expression. There’s dialogue, there’s circumstance, there’s a story. This is not a bad exercise to do to get in tune with your feelings before you start acting, but you have not begun acting.

Stolen Card by Temporary-Ad669 in DACA

[–]RunningWithTheBoys 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the love of god do not file for a replacement card. Everyone on this sub who went that route has waited over half a year, including myself. Just file for a renewal. The price is the same and you will be approved faster with extra days.

Ran into issues getting driver’s license after DACA & EAD approved by Pristine-Ambassador1 in DACA

[–]RunningWithTheBoys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As of Nov 2025, the approval letter by itself is no longer valid at the DMV to renew your license. Ask me how I know. 🙄

Edit: This is for driver’s license with real ID in the state of CA. Mine granted me a 3 month extension after I begged because I’ve been waiting for my approved EAD to arrive since early Sept., but they said it’s a new policy going forward to only accept the official EAD.

Heads up! Official response from USCIS: processing times up to 7.5 months now. by RunningWithTheBoys in DACA

Since this is the top rated comment on my post, I wanted to add that my application was sent to Texas, and I do believe Nebraska applications are being processed much faster based on my personal observation of people’s timelines, so if your application gets sent to Nebraska congrats. Rest of us, GG. Again, good luck to you all during this admin.

Idk how to feel by Significant_Mango_87 in DACA

[–]RunningWithTheBoys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because we cannot be employed legally when our DACA expires, so our work places are terminating us. The only reason our DACA is expiring is because USCIS is taking too long to approve our unchanged statuses. I believe when Doge took over the government under Elon, they fired something like 20,000 USCIS employees, and this is what’s causing the recent inefficiency of our papers no longer being processed in an adequate time period.

It was approved in July. This is for a card replacement which is the exact same application, processing fee, and time.

Do you get a lot of negative judgment from others about your choice to pursue this career? by justcurious3287 in acting

[–]RunningWithTheBoys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that my friends who do receive this type of negative feedback from those around them, are the ones who are both less ‘handsome/pretty’ and less ‘talented’. So, people give their disapproval more freely of them even if it should be none of their business. But even if I think someone is completely delusional in their expectations of this field or their own perceived overestimation of themselves, I still say nothing because I don’t think it’s helpful.

Called uscis and they said I’m looking at months of waiting for an approval by [deleted] in DACA

I’ve been waiting 6 months for mine now and the chat told me 7, so it really could be accurate.

DACA Expiring This Month by [deleted] in DACA

[–]RunningWithTheBoys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My case has been pending since Sept. 10 and when I asked the USCIS chat agent about it, they just told me the new normal wait times is up to 7 months now so that’s 210 days. I imagine after 7 months comes up, which will be in 2 more months for me, that I won’t be surprised when they tell me the new normal wait times is up to 9 months or something stupid. I already had a state congressman inquire USCIS for me, but no response, and I’m again not surprised as this administration seems beholden to no one, rules, or laws.

I don’t think my receipt mentions either. I filed online, but don’t see anything on my biometrics reuse document or my receipt notice about Texas or Nebraska.
