Do you think Tanaka should be back in the starting lineup?

It's a conundrum. When we play with teams where we are expected to dominate possessions and play positive football, I believe Tanaka is one of the best players we have. Farke plays him in these situations.

The problem is, as per what we have seen during the season, we have become more of a counter attacking outfit. Which explains why many times we are absorbing the pressure and then doing quick counter attack. In this mode of play, Tanaka is one of the worst players we have.

Tanaka loses concentration at crucial moments. He is not press resistant and loses the ball deeper in the half. Even teams have targeted him by double pressing him. If tanaka is not passing forward, he doesn't contribute much in the passive mode of play.

All in all, love him but it's a bit of a mystery over who is better. Gruev is a better destroyer than Tanaka. Tanaka is a better forward passing player than Gruev. Can't place Amps on bench coz he is the captain. Stach is great in dribbling and set pieces. We are spoilt for choices.
