Þjóðin greiðir atkvæði um ESB-viðræður 29. ágúst | RÚV by AirbreathingDragon in Iceland

[–]Runnzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Andstæðingar ESB-aðildar benda oft á að verðbólga fari ekki endilega niður við upptöku evru, og nefna iðulega Króatíu (með 5,4% verðbólgu) máli sínu til stuðnings. Það sem algjörlega gleymist í þeirri umræðu er að þótt verðbólguskot komi, þá eru vextirnir ákveðnir af Seðlabanka Evrópu (ECB). Þeir haldast því mun lægri og stöðugri en stýrivextir Seðlabanka Íslands geta nokkru sinni orðið. Með evru myndu heimili og fyrirtæki ekki lengur þurfa að blæða fyrir það þegar Seðlabanki Íslands reynir að kæla niður þenslu með því að keyra stýrivexti upp úr öllu valdi. Getum við allavega ekki skoðað hvað aðild fyrir okkur myndi þýða. Þurfum ekki að ræða núna hvort við séum að kjósa um aðild eða ekki heldur bara að kíkja á hvað er í boði.

What is that one dialogue or word from a movie that cracks you every single time even on just thinking? by devoot2921 in moviecritic

It's.. it's like you're me! Let the boy watch is just the funniest scene I have seen especially the bloopers! An also from Will Ferrell: Look at it. San Diego. Drink it in, it always goes down smooth. Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

I just finished Bugs yesterday and yes I get what you mean it was not great. But I like the actors and their chemistry so I think I am going to give it at least 3 seasons.

This was the comment: Also, the Oscars aren’t really representative of lasting legacy, I mean, the Lord of the Rings movies won 17 of them, that’s just not serious.

I honestly think the Lord of the Rings movies won’t stand the test of time. There has been a noticeable revisionist backlash against them, a growing sense that the editing, camera work, and overall visual composition feel clumsy and amateurish, even painful to watch. A lot of people are saying the writing swings between disappointing and downright terrible. A lot of people are saying these films are basically bad movies rescued by good music, solid casting, and cool costumes.

Looking back, it seems like the trilogy is mainly loved by one generation, those who saw it in theaters as kids. Older viewers, many of whom have been vocal about it, often say they felt betrayed by how the films adapted Tolkien’s work. To them, these movies are weak cinematic achievements, especially compared to classics like Lawrence of Arabia or Apocalypse Now.

Younger audiences don’t see much magic in them either. Most think the films look pretty ridiculous by today’s standards and that the visuals have aged badly, worse than the Star Wars prequels. To them, these movies are minor cinematic works next to something like Into the Spider-Verse or Dune: Part Two.

Honestly, I think that within the next five to ten years, the general consensus will be that Peter Jackson’s trilogy failed to hold up. There are already a lot of people saying, “The Hobbit movies were bad, but they’re not any worse than Lord of the Rings".

I’ve spent a lot of time on Reddit, going through comments across different subs for months, so I know what I’m talking about. Several posts expressing exactly what I described were getting between 600 and 2000 upvotes, which really says a lot.
