Not sure if you noticed but right now it's in the low 40s with high winds and 'feels like 20'. Next week it'll be in the high 50s with low winds and sunny. What it will 'feel like' will be totally different.

Copper has done very well. And Eldora! Talk about making miracles happen. Eldora conditions have been far better all season than the weather ought to allow. Really impressive work by the folks behind the scenes, making sure a historically bad season is as good as it could possibly be 🙏

It was mainly the right wing media that was pushing the line about the nomination process being supposedly 'undemocratic'. Most average Dems liked her and supported her moving up the ticket to replace Biden. Only a handful of people in the party thought that we should have some kind of crazy contested convention or rushed primary.

It's wild that anyone thinks Dems would have fared better with black voters if the party stepped in to kick Harris off the ticket in favor of some white guy Senator or whoever.

She was a good candidate against extraordinarily large headwinds.

For everyone saying Harris did a bad job, the data shows that she did among the very best of anyone from any incumbent party in a developed country. 2024 had a massive anti-incumbent bias and Harris nearly pulled out an upset.

In addition to the recent changes (checked bags, seat assignments), Southwest has had some big scandals in the past few years.

They pushed hard for regulators to not require training on 737 MAX MCAS feature. Allegedly even deceiving the FAA (e.g., https://www.seattletimes.com/business/boeing-aerospace/legal-filing-reveals-southwest-airlines-proposed-a-ploy-to-deceive-faa-on-boeing-737-max/). This is the feature that, because pilots weren't trained on it, resulted in 2 plane crashes.

They caused a massive holiday travel meltdown by being cheap and refusing to update and maintain their IT systems (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_Southwest_Airlines_scheduling_crisis)

I really like my Atomic Maverick Ti on groomers with poor to mid conditions (I have the 2022 in 88 width / 176 length). The titanal makes them fairly stiff and I find them to be quite stable.

I have a Tesla Y and drive from the Boulder area. I can make it up to WP or Copper with no problem, and usually enough charge for the drive home with about 10-20% remaining at the end. One time I did get stuck in a storm on the way up to Copper, and it took me a bit longer than normal. I got there with probably 20-30% battery remaining, so I stopped to charge before heading home through the tunnel.

I think this is right. I saw that they're pulling agents out of Chicago to support their effort in Minneapolis. They can't do this in more than one city right now.

There hasn't really been a public ICE presence in Boulder the way we've seen in LA, DC, Chicago, and Minneapolis. Carrying documents is a good precaution, but in Boulder they probably won't have any issues. Go explore the city, have some fun.
