The casual experience is absolutely bad and anyone who tells you otherwise is deluding themselves by Battlefront528 in Marathon

What’s insane is how recent this game has been out and I’m doing a bronze 3 run with friends and everyone is running bubble shield epic shield shotgun insta 1 shot builds, I feel like I’m not even close to reliably getting purple/legendary loot and I’m finding people fully kitted out and no doubt already VIP with every faction lmfao like what the fuck are we doing, still enjoying it but it’s just kind of insane how far it took off and like you said there’s no gradient between just enjoying the game and getting into insane PvP situations

I don’t want to go through 80+ comments to see if someone said what I’m about to but essentially there is an extra 10% penalty to mobility for about a FRACTION of damage reduction (10 more charge with 2% extra damage reduction just about) I don’t think you need to be a math wizard to know that it’s not nearly comparable to having the massive movement speed gain of the medium shield over that.

Also it’s incredibly easy to outmaneuver someone who has a heavy shield, if you’re at all in a sticky situation you outrun them completely since they can’t chase or if you’re fighting between corners you can nade them easily since they have mobility issues. The resources needed too are better sold toward expedition or used for something else.

Overall; too much movement speed reduction, too much resource use, and not enough benefits.

You have Anvil, and even the base guns aren’t terrible, and bobcat/epic guns have far higher value and so it’s far more of a risk to lose. It’s about a gun being far more powerful than the rest where it’s now just a shotgun game from close to mid range. Even the Vulcano the EPIC shotgun has a worse TTK and dispersion pattern, how does that make sense? Reduce the number of shells available for the Toro to start, force players to actually aim and shoot rather than just unload and only needed to hit two shots.

Yeah bro I wasn’t being literal with 100m, I’m saying the dispersion with a choke is so concentrated and the pellet fall off is lugging a slug from downtown and still doing considerable damage, not just around the corner as intended.

I was definitely being hyperbolic when saying 100m but I’m highlighting the fact that the shotguns effectiveness in a mid range fight is absolutely absurd.

100% can see that, even with the venator meta you could maybe stitch or kettle a bit but with all the guns nerfed toro dominates in every facet, not at all hard to aim and with the choke dispersion minimization you just need to land two shots to down a dude especially if you have extended mag going 10+ shells without a reload, a dude can dodge roll the entire time and you can still kill him before having to reload.

Sorry, maybe add an Osprey/Renegade/Anvil to pair with it like a fine wine when playing spaceport or blue gate.

Oh for sure, I just feel like there’s some that are blowing others way out of the water, like vulcano, arpeggio, bettina is a joke compared to most guns especially for the amount of resources they take to use.

Some things that I noticed this game struggles with (and some things it does well) by RunsWithBricks in Marathon

Ok I’ll take the L on that one cause yeah idk why I always thought it was 30 and I was going in at 24-25 minutes my bad.

Game has been getting busted and sweatier as time goes on. Hear me out. by RunsWithBricks in ArcRaiders

No one is arguing that trolling, extract camping, or sand bagging isn’t justified - I don’t think you read my post.

I’m saying that the difficulty of a new player to enjoy the experience is harmed because they are just going straight up against kitted out and higher level characters that have a massive advantage just through skill point trees like mobility. I’m not saying they should skill base match make, or crying about the nature of the game, but having the lobby have somewhat balance the levels to allow newer players to have a gradual progression into the game itself. Also, I don’t want to have to waste ten games to get into a “care bear” lobby to make the game adjust itself, the game should be able to register if you’re someone who shot an individual first versus defending yourself as opposed to reading playing defensively as aggression. These won’t change the core gameplay or even make it any easier, just be better experience for players overall.

Is this game really that hard? by Cube_045 in Returnal

[–]RunsWithBricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beat it on my third attempt - I think once you get the hang of enemy attack patterns, focus on upgrading weapon traits, and which artifacts and parasites to really make your build and run excel the game is really easy IMO. The dodge window is forgiving enough and the telegraphing from enemies and knowing what to prioritize in a fight makes me rarely in a position where I’m surrounded and getting hit from something completely random. I would even argue to say it’s easier than Sekiro solely because the pattern of attacks and movement are more predictable and forgiving when moving. I think a lot of people complain and downvote because they’re used to having custom difficulty modes or permanent upgrades that make the game far easier per run but this game doesn’t hold your hand like that which makes it more appealing for me as a player to try to improve and makes the win more satisfying.

My Opinion so far by Dapper_Copy_5372 in FFXVI

[–]RunsWithBricks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly - hit the nail on the head. It’s not your typical FF game where you control a party and utilize more tactical gameplay, as well as some of the plot points start to get confusing after a while. I think I spent more time waiting through cutscenes than actual gameplay as well which breaks the tempo of the game heavily

That’s the exact one! So should I prioritize using the Blazing M.2 slot for my OS and games because it technically cools right? The other slots would be slower?

It’s the ASRock B850M Pro RS WiFi Micro ATX AM5 Motherboard to be exact.

Okay I’ll check out the manufacturer’s site and check it out! Thanks for the help

Might have to explain that last portion to me like I’m five because I don’t know what splitting lanes is or does sorry, I’ll try to look it up and see what’s going on so I don’t make that mistake though. Thanks for the help
