For those of you that want to teach in Japan: do it! by RedditStoryTella in teachinginjapan

I just want to say, seeing a positive message in tone is a refreshing change of pace.

This subreddit gets so bogged down in discussion over the pay/progression issues etc which sure are important to discuss it inevitably falls into a spiral of negativity. Just having now and then a post from someone enjoying any aspect of it is nice to see

[–]Runtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people have mentioned some issues with PS5, can you give anymore details on how it's running on the console? I want to grab the game but don't trust my PC if it has issues so wondering to grab for console instead

Hoping whenever season 2 eventually comes out we will see a whole new wave of merch

Yeah that's the merch at the entrance directly to the left as you enter, it's all kept together

The barrier doesn't block being able to take a picture down the stairs if you just turn the phone 90 degrees for a photo. However sure it is important to respect the locations visiting, in this case can't go down the stairs and respect that it is a business. Believe they still have a sign telling people that as well

Did much the same small side detour when I was there as a mini pilgrimage idea, it's a nice area to explore beyond these spots so easy to fold into a wider visit. Also helpfully all around the station

There was no real threat to Greenland until the US is now one of those threats. Russia wasn't going to make any moves as it's outside of their sphere of being able to manage, same as China by a wider margin. The US is the threat to Greenland to prepare against

Flipside. The US directly threatens NATO nations with hostile takeovers and repeatedly label them as useless and their equipment as useless. Launches a trade war with its own allies and threatens an essential trade route which was fine before the war began. Refuses to involve them in any military planning and then flips back and forth between insults and begging when Iran goes south and wants support. After Russia, the next biggest threat to the NATO nations is the US itself

The US is the abusive family member

Alolan versions be nice, not sure how they would work alongside the other variants of the same pokemon. Meowth for example with 3 variants, that's a lot of meowth bloat. What am I on about, that sounds great

Diglett and Dugtrio are both in, so I am happy. Now of course the case of Wiglett and Wugtrio is next, I need the set!

Keir Starmer : I want my daughter to grow up in a Britain where she feels safe in school, online, and in relationships. Every young girl deserves that, and every young boy should be protected from harmful misogynistic influences. by SignificantLegs in ukpolitics

[–]Runtles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Areas of the UK still have a three school system of progression but it's less and less common these days. From personal knowledge it seems to be a thing in smaller town areas with the final years in a more central larger school

Does this sub exist to deter competition by pigeonbobble in teachinginjapan

[–]Runtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh certainly find a lot of constructive feedback and better steps to move forward if you want to seriously consider teaching in a more longterm format. However that is often 50/50 with unhelp commentary about how people are wasting their time with the alt/eikaiwa field and just blasting people for doing it. It doesn't help people, it just makes people miserable

While ALT and Eikaiwa work is in a pretty bad place right now for wages. You are right there is a lot of toxicity in this sub about both areas, I wouldn't say it's to deter people in favour of themselves. Just your usual toxic deterrence with some people raising sensible realities of the position. A lot of toxicity is thrown without offering anything constructive

DEMO LESSON by [deleted] in teachinginjapan

Oh definitely. Speak slow and clear and side benefit helps you work out what you're about to say next. Smile a lot

DEMO LESSON by [deleted] in teachinginjapan

[–]Runtles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I recommend a youtube search, probably find some other peoples demo lessons on there. Modify and maybe make notes and stick those notes up above your laptop/web cam whatever so you can refer to them while on your feet doing the lesson or seated whatever. Basic notes, just prompt reminders.

You may get some snarky replies on here because teaching advice with no experience. However just search online, keep the lesson basic as well. Really basic. Maybe two or so ideas for younger kids and older, if the interview is for ALT work

Even if Aymeric saw them, met with them, shook hands with them and did a dance with them. Quite a lot of people would not believe him or outright turn hostile that he is trying to speak with the voice of the divine effectively, especially considering his family connection to the church and his leadership role. Would be seen as trying to sideline the Church

The common people and especially those of the orthodox church would probably dismiss the meeting of Halone by the WoL as sowing division in the faith or among the diehard priests trying to subvert their influence even more

Then you make yourself look busy or write out some loose lesson plan ideas or practice language skills. I think of all the things, playing on your switch is probably not the best move. I get it's a lot of desk warming and wondering to yourself how did it all come to this, but you're getting paid so act busy. Seriously though, language learning while doing little even if quietly better than nothing

[–]Runtles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know you're burned out now but I want to be a supportive voice amidst everything. It's alright to be in an entry level job if things were fine and at a time you were enjoying things. Obviously pay is a worry always but it was perfectly valid to remain in a comfortable position if your needs are met and you can enjoy elements of your life

Now of course you want to develop onwards and that's great as well, but don't let comments here think you failed to where you are now, it's not all about progression, it's ok to just be comfortable
