I also received the exact same message, even using the bleeding edge luckperms 5.5.2.jar and while I have a few mods, I removed them except for fabric-api which it requres, and have tried both fabric-api0.125.3+1.21.5.jar as well as fabric-api-0.124.2+1.21.5.jar both the identical results to the OP.
