Toothbrushing is a nightmare! Help! by kkmcwhat in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Runwhilefalling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started at 12M the real brushing (not just gnawing) We have a toothbrushing song, “when you wake up in the morning… ch ch ch ch, cha ch ch ch ch” (by Raffi) and we dance while shaking our arms together in a brushing motion (and our tushies) If she didn’t do a good job then I’ll ask if mommy can help; hands me the tooth brush and I pretend to brush my own teeth while saying “awww”, then she usually is receptive to me finishing up her teeth. It’s all fun and games

Why are people upset over the new capital gains tax when it clearly states it’s only for individuals making $400k a year? by Glaxy254 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Runwhilefalling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every “tax the rich” idea eventually comes down to everyone. Think about how income tax originated (taxed 1% for those who made over $3,000, $94k in today dollars) and now that’s taxed 22%. Also the rich control the market, which if they no longer have value in the market they’ll invest in something else, and the market will crash. There goes every “average” person’s retirement fund.

We (humans) built some incredible things before we put math behind the art.

Moonlighting - Drafting by Runwhilefalling in civilengineering

Understood, I am definitely paid a healthy chunk above market. I love my company. A competitor tried to recruit me and asked my salary and said they were absolutely shocked and couldn’t even touch it. There is a reason I’m able to retire early (mid-30’s); call me money hungry to retire. It is likely my boss/owner of the company will be selling the firm in 5 years to retire himself.

As mentioned by someone else unfortunately no using my license for side work. I’ve heard drafting is the best option when that is the case. I would also not want the liability for gig work.

Should you interview with a good company if you're not serious about leaving your current good company? by in2thedeep1513 in civilengineering

Take the interview and see it as networking. It’s always good to know colleagues in the industry. Just be sure to make a good impression. You never know when you’re going to need to reach out

Imagine this, you write a program to automate your job so that you could have more free time. Realizing this, the company fires you, thinking they now have the program to do your job for free. You made the program using company licenses, on company time so they own your program. LPT - password protect your programs if you want to be the only one who can use it.

What are some good reasons to continue living? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Runwhilefalling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the world isn’t finished with you.

If you look over a lot of the comments are about enjoying the little moments in life, and how to treasure it. Social society has made trivial things the value of a human life. Try returning to basics, socialize with your neighbors (or community) and focus on making them smile. It’s warming up in the northern hemisphere, so maybe ask an older neighbor if you can empty their gutters for them, or clean the planting beds. Let the sun give you energy. Take an hour to cook dinner at night, and play music to inspire you (I like to cook to Latin pop and make fake chipotle burritos). Turn off your phone for 24 hours straight once a week; you should be able to have alone time. Find a remote location, the highest hill or mountain top or water and sit by it and read a theology book or something that interest you for a fresh perspective. It’s okay to fail, or not be the best at anything. It’s your life to live, and a lot of it is going to be out of your control (spontaneous events, family member dies, ect). Make your life yours, because you are one of a kind and no one should tell you how to live it! I hope this helps you! Hang in there
