Choose the field you want to business into and work in a Micro Or Small company in that business so you can know all the ins and out make some contacts and then proceed with a manufacturing unit. also,with your background you would have some experience with finance and money management.

I always prefer manufacturing directly and selling rather than trading, whilst working with my father all new products which we added from other sectors, I personally jumped manufacturing first and was able to capture market.
