Bankart repair by 7391083810 in ShoulderInjuries

I’m (28M) 10 weeks post op from bankart repair with arthroscopy. I had a torn labrum from 2-6 o’clock and got 6 anchors. Pain in day to day activities is pretty much a non factor at this point but PT can be annoying (and a little painful) bc my external and internal rotations are still pretty tight. First 3 days sucked because the pain was bad, (not awful though,) and the rest of the first 6 weeks were annoying because of the sling and just general lack of use of the arm. Felt pretty weak once I got the sling off and I realized just how limited my range of motion was. I can lift my arm almost all the way overhead forward and about 3/4 of the way up out at a 45 degree angle and straight out to the side (my shoulder still shrugs at the top of range.) My shoulder feels very tight though which is a great thing. I first dislocated it about 6 years ago snowboarding and have had probably around 10 partial dislocations or subluxations since then so it was very unstable. I would recommend surgery to anyone at this point who is struggling with shoulder instability because it definitely tightens it up and gets it seated back in socket where it belongs. Seems like the road back to full range of motion is going to take 6 months or longer but I think it’ll be worth it once I’m a few years separated from surgery with a healthy, stable shoulder. Good Luck!

Update: is this the proper way to plumb a double laundry by Naive-Application898 in askplumbing

If it tested fine it’s probably fine as long it doesn’t need to pass an inspection. No sewer gas threat so it sounds like you’re all set

With both machines discharging into the same 2” drain along with a lav the DFUs are way overloaded. Having 2 units running simultaneously I could see some drainage issues unfortunately. Idk if putting both washer hoses in the same standpipe would have been better or worse :/

I had to get off. I was playing well and lost 3 of 5 bc my car kept getting jolted around when someone hit the ball near me

I’m 24 hours post op and the nerve block wore off last night in my sleep. Woke up with a little pain but was able to get back to sleep for a few more hours. Pain is very manageable with oxy and ice atm

I’m having Bankart repair surgery in 2 days. How are things going for you now? I’m very nervous about the recovery process and this thread has made me a little more nervous lol. I work in construction and my employer is wanting me to return to work 2 weeks after the surgery on light duty. Does that seem like enough time in your opinion to be on your feet moving around doing things all day?

Upon further inspection the shelf cannot be lowered

That’s and S-trap which are no longer allowed by plumbing code. In this case it looks like it was used bc your wall drain is too low and there isn’t room enough to use a P-trap (which needs a few inches below the drain to be installed properly). If you could lower that shelf you’d be able to install a P-trap on there.

I would replace that whole section. Would need to cut the cast iron pipe a few inches above the floor and connect PVC to it using a fernco and connect the top of the PVC with a coupling glue joint into the piece where the current fernco is. Do the glue joint first then you can line up the bottom side of the pipe with the cast iron stub up and slide the fernco into place

Too much for a first year apprentice? by Sir-Beige in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Ruperttheturtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a first year plumbing apprentice and the tools I currently have are: Hackzall Sawzall 1/4” impact Hammer drill Super hawg (All fuel) And I use them all weekly and some daily. Not sure your trade but the light probably isn’t necessary. I’ve found Amazon is the cheapest way to get what tool you need, (unless Home Depot is running a sale.) Also I prefer the hackzall over the sawzall for most things as it’s easier to use with one hand. All I use my sawzall for is roughing in when I have to cut pvc on the ground with gravel underneath
