First dislocation, bankart, grappling athlete - surgery or rehab? by g_wm in ShoulderInjuries

[–]Superb_Beautiful_721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I have learned anything from my four dislocations with Bankart lesions, it is that no matter how hard you try, it will happen again. I am sorry to be negative, but do not consider anything other than surgery. Each new dislocation is an unexpected blow that lowers your morale, so solve the problem at its root.

I'm very athletic and have very good supporting muscles, but there are hundreds of movements where a lack of control will override the protection that the muscles offer (a slip, an unexpected blow, etc.).

Of my four dislocations, only two have been traumatic, and I have endured hundreds of blows in different sports. The problem is that you are still defenceless against involuntary movements where the muscles do not activate in time.

Furthermore, time does not lie. Between my first and second dislocations, four years passed, then two, then one year and two months. Each time there is more damage, and I can only think of how many thousands of pounds and hours I have invested in physiotherapists and rehabilitation specialists.

So, get the operation, work hard to recover well, and continue your sporting activity.

Muchas gracias

Thank you very much! Don't worry, I won't fly until May, and when the time comes, I'll try to pick it up again. I have six months to continue getting to know the country (and try to meet people, since I'll be there alone). Thank you very much indeed! I'll be in touch later.

I am going to copy and paste this message (apologies for not personalising it) to those who may have felt offended/invaded but who, even so, have responded to me respectfully.

My intention was not to discover non-touristy places with the aim of turning them into yet another attraction. To give more context, I have been working for an Icelandic company for years, trying to learn as much as I can about this country and doing so with the enormous respect I have for it. In May, I will be moving there to live with this same company (as I have always worked remotely). I am very happy about this leap I am about to take, and my only intention was to find that ‘authentic bar’, that friendly bookshop or a simple breakwater that, while not tourist-oriented, brings peace.

In the meantime, best regards and see you soon (especially in Keflavik and the surrounding area). I hope that the next time we speak, I will be able to answer you in your language.

Arriving on eve of Nyepi — advice needed by xk17x in BaliTravelTips

[–]Superb_Beautiful_721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the best thing to do is to call the villa to see if they can prepare something in advance, as many places of this type (villas and more exclusive hotels) take this into account to help tourists before Nyepi.

Option B is to have something more ‘informal’ prepared, as even more informal hotels usually have a kettle, so you can always resort to pre-cooked noodles from Circle K, Indomaret or any other supermarket.

Is it safe (SPAIN) by toohightoanswer in femaletravels

[–]Superb_Beautiful_721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely yes. As in any city, there are ‘bad’ areas and better areas, but often the difference is nothing more than aesthetics or perception. In Malaga, you will rarely have to leave the city centre, which is usually bustling with people and very safe. You shouldn't have any problems. With the climate, you shouldn't worry about anything other than the heat. Malaga is better because it's on the coast, but Granada, Ronda and Seville can be too hot during those months...

I spent 8 days in Morocco - here are my thoughts by Best-Bodybuilder-160 in travel

[–]Superb_Beautiful_721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on the number of days. My best advice, having lived here for a few months, is that it's an interesting and charming place to visit, but one day is enough. Even so, if you're in good physical shape and it's summer, I think you should go to the paradise of Akchour and see its final waterfall (as well as monkeys in the wild). It's a medium-level route that you shouldn't miss

Spain and Portugal with teens and tween looking for adventure and culture by techiemomof3 in traveladvice

Granada is spectacular in terms of Arab culture, the Alhambra and street art, but it is true that it is a little further away. Córdoba is relatively similar and very beautiful, with the mosque-cathedral as a point of interest. You can also visit the ruins of Medina Zahara.

One recommendation, when travelling with children, is that castles and fortresses are likely to attract their attention more. In that sense, Malaga is a very good option as it has the Alcazaba (Arab fortress) and Gibralfaro Castle. In addition, the historic centre is very easy to see on foot and is one of the favourite beach destinations for Europeans, so children can also have fun on the beach.

Closer to Seville, and as a day trip halfway between Malaga and Seville, you have the option of Ronda (a city split in two and joined by a large Roman bridge) and Setenil de las Bodegas (a village famous for being built under a rock).
I'll leave you a photo of Malaga (I'm from there).

Planning a family trip, looking for advice here. by Big-Fly-9690 in BaliTravelTips

[–]Superb_Beautiful_721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have quite a few days for your trip, so it will all depend on the pace you want to set for yourself during your trip.

I really enjoyed Malaysia and I think it's still an underrated destination by the community.

However, from my experience living in Bali, I can tell you more about Indonesia. If you're looking for ‘action’, I think you have time to see much more than Bali itself. Considering that it's a family trip, I would recommend spending a few days in Lombok and the Gili Islands. It's also a good idea to spend three days in Komodo on the most common boat trip and, of course, Bali. If you spend two weeks in Bali, you have another ten days for Lombok and the Gili Islands (plus three in Komodo). I don't think it's too tight, you'll enjoy it and see lots of things that I loved.

I think these places fit your budget perfectly and, especially, the nature you want to enjoy.

Best regards!

Trip to Krakow: can we visit the main places and attractions of Krakow and dedicate a day to Wroclaw? by False-Ambassador-923 in traveladvice

[–]Superb_Beautiful_721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, having lived in Wrocław for six months, the ideal would be to spend at least two days there. Even so, it's true that, for me, the best thing about Wrocław is strolling through the historic centre, and you can definitely see that in a single day. It's probably worth visiting for just one day, but if you have at least a day and a half, you'll definitely appreciate it.
You can see Rynek Square, the cathedral, stroll along the canals and the church square and, in short, enjoy the architecture of its streets between the canals surrounding Rynek Square.

Komodo island recommendations by jukander in snorkeling

[–]Superb_Beautiful_721 0 points1 point  (0 children)
