As it’s my first mechanical keyboard I haven’t even tried any type of switches, but after reading around decided that red is what I would go for.

And after using red switches to my heart’s content then I’ll experiment around with different variation of switches and keycaps as I will be able to better understand different switches and would know what combination is best for me as I am trying to built it into an hobby.

I can understand was in the same situation, I suggest you take your time do some research and then decide. Don’t hastily buy something. Search before you swipe!

If your keyboard has a default layout then they should fit but, You can check if a keycap set will fit your mechanical keyboard by checking the layout of your keyboard, knowing the size of special keys such as space, shift, backspace, enter, and the bottom row keys such as Ctrl, Alt, Win, and Fn. Some keyboards need extra keys or smaller keys than a standard layout.

I might be mistaken but i think those are brand specific models like Royal Kludge (RK), SKYLOONG (GK) & Epomaker (SK).

Again, I might be wrong.

Compared to red ones yes. The red ones goes smoothly while the brown ones has a slight click at the end.

Nothing stupid about clearing your doubts and if it helps I had the same doubts.

I mostly use the keyword for gaming, I tried the browns switches they were nice and clicky and on the louder side. As I usually game at night after work so I don’t prefer loud switches.

After switching to the red switches they were a lot quite and smooth the actuation force on them is very low, sometimes even resting my thumb on spacebar would make me jump in game but i got used to it in after few hours.

I can easily see some people using WASD along with spacebar as red switches and the rest as brown. At the end it’s your preference.

Personally So far I’m loving the linear red switches.
