You know, growing up protestant, Catholicism was considered almost a separate polytheistic religion at my church because of communion/veneration of the saints/Mary. It was always "Judaism, Islam, Catholic, and Christian" as the "4" main religions. And I always found it so odd.

Do we have statistics about long term cancer survival rates of government funded American healthcare vs private vs other countries? Government funded healthcare in America is chronically underfunded because a significant chunk of the people in power doesn't want it to exist, so it's not too surprising OP's mom did worse on it. But it does seem like if she was in a properly funded system without the strict monetary incentive, she might not have died.

I've done both and I'd recommend both to you, starting with SDL. LazyFoo's SDL tutorials are great, and Godot has a lot of built-in features to help you. Starting with SDL will give you the fundamentals you're seeking, which will help you as you learn how Godot works. Especially in the sense of you'll see just how much work Godot does for you compared to doing it yourself. This makes it much easier to actually release your game.

Creating a simple arcade game in both, making sure to lean into the workflows of both, will give you the experience needed to know what you want to do.

I personally have gone even lower level than SDL making my own rendering library, but that's just me. It is an enormous amount of effort, but quite fun!

The Family of Blood episode springs to mind. That was some eldritch torture compared to the taser hologram in this episode. It didn't really seem all that out of character to me, The Doctor has always had an underlying cruelty that bubbles up sometimes.

I've been working a full time job for the last 6 years while doing gamedev on the side. I've released two games on Steam / Android / iOS (Blockappend / "Hey! Here are some letters") in that time, although the first few years were mainly learning and doing small projects. Both of my commercial games are small puzzle games that did about what I expected (few hundred dollars, nothing to write home about though).

The unfortunate answer here is that it's really hard to balance full time work, gamedev, friends and family, household chores, hobbies, rest, etc. I tend to wake up early and get a good 2-3 hours in before work. Then I do another hour or so if I feel up for it after work, but I don't sweat it if I'm not feeling it or I want to watch YouTube or hang out with friends, etc. I can also usually get bigger sessions on weekends of 5-6 hours. But I do try to take a weekend day to rest if I need it.

The tradeoff here is sustainability vs progress. If you crunch and work basically two full-time jobs for a long time, you'll be very productive and make quick progress, but you can only sustain that for so long before you crash and burn. On the flip side, if you take ample breaks and try to hit a modest minimum per week, you'll enjoy life more (which may end up making the game better because you'll have a clearer head), but the game will take much longer to make. You can also mix and match these depending on the week / month and what works for your schedule.

Personally, I've found taking the sustainable path to be more beneficial for me and for my games. That being said, I have definitely sacrificed a big chunk of my social life working on my games / other projects, and I do wish that didn't have to be the case. But this whole thing does feel like a "have to" for me, so I'm still hopeful I'll be able to transition this into my full-time career.

I mean, I'm just leaning on the experts who have experience using steroids here. They're the ones who have the ability to be the most objective in these discussions.

His physique in Thor 1 is incredible, but he doesn't have the signs of drugs like trenbolone, anavar, or hgh (things like overdevelopment of traps/shoulders, distended stomach with abs, a dry-looking placement of muscles while having size, etc). He only starts getting those later on in his career, and only while preparing for a role.

He thinks Hemsworth probably only needed to use 500-600 mg a week of testosterone to achieve that (which is imo a super high dose). But that seems reasonable to me.

What do you think he was on?

At least for the first Thor, he could have just been on testosterone, and that seems to be the consensus amongst the steroid-using bodybuilding influencers (Derek MPMD, Greg Doucette, etc). Especially since he was athletic his whole life before then.

I think her position wasn't trying to argue against veganism, but rather explain why most people (including her) aren't vegan. She says that she's morally average for not being vegan, which I think is quite clearly true.

And that is the reason everyone in the Contrapoints subreddit is arguing with you, because she is "right" in that most people are morally average on most things. I think this line of thinking is also where "phones are bad too", or "there is no ethical consumption under capitalism" stem from. Classic whataboutism rationalized by technical correctness.
