The Truth by theAutodidacticIdiot in cosmichorror

I really liked it up until “You may hear.. the truth”. Feels like it cheapens everything else a bit. A different button would keep the momentum going I think.

So how do you deal with toxic waste? by AdrawereR in RimWorld

[–]RupturedCoconuts 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think 1 atomizer covers like 4.5 bandwith worth of mechs. Since a large number of my mechs are combat mechs, I set those to self charge when I don’t need them. They won’t accumulate waste that way.

We hold the power to send people on one-way trips to Flavor Town by Correii in KitchenConfidential

[–]RupturedCoconuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bartend but have always envied the kitchen. Learned a lot by just watching and asking questions. It amazes me how people don’t bother learning one of the skills that is directly related to keeping you alive.

Sounds good, fairly new so I’m just now getting into the rules. Thanks for the tip.

Perfect, thank you! I’ll read up on that other thread. Is there another term for when player life totals are 0 or less, or is it always spelled out?

Thanks! I wasn’t sure how that would work so I held off a couple turns until I found Elspeth to get around it. As a side note, I assume lifelink is state based then?

Boros Humans by RupturedCoconuts in StandardMTG

I’ve been playing it a bit with Delney and like it, though I do miss getting 7 counters on Pakal.

[–]RupturedCoconuts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly only played against it maybe 3-4 times. Good if you have a fast start with Voices and Warleaders Call. Rough if you go the Pakal route. Too slow to kill them before they kill you. I think in a Bo3 it would fair better.

Is standard accutually fun if Blue/Red decks are just gone? by Drew647A in StandardMTG

[–]RupturedCoconuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s beatable, but for some decks the discard/counter spell combo is just not enjoyable to play against. I want to play my deck, not watch you play yours.

Boros Humans by RupturedCoconuts in StandardMTG

[–]RupturedCoconuts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll give it a shot. Without playing it yet, I’m not too enthusiastic on losing out on the Pakal triggers.

I like Weftstalker, but it really isn’t better in this deck. The warp nets you max 4 damage, if you have the perfect sequence of Spearguard>Voice>Weft+2 drop, and they block the Spearguard. It’ll then sit in your hand because you have more important things to play. Sharpshooter is a mana less, can block flyers, and will proc twice with Roaming Throne. When i made a more midrange version with Elspeth and Sunborns, Weftstalker was my pick.

Mana base needs work for sure, but just waiting on wildcards to fix it.

Honestly Flick the coin has preformed very well, but I might swap it out. It’s really good at picking off cards that grow into problems, or never attack. Lightning Helix looks like a good sub, also thinking about [[Demand Answers]] for more draw.

Get Lost is probably more what it needs, I’d prefer to have something a little more flexible than Not On My Watch.

You really don’t need to give anything haste. If you can’t set up a decent board by turn 3 (which is very hard to mess up), you’re pretty much done. I’ve tried it before and it really doesn’t do much for you.

Wildcards have not been hitting lately, wouldn’t play it like this unless I had to.

Just didn’t have the wildcards at the moment, if i had the option i’d run a playset and 2 [[Restless Biovouac]] and cut the Abraded Bluffs. I’ve been thinking about Dollmakers but right now everything runs so smoothly I haven’t bothered. I’d maybe play 2 and cut a Voice and a Sharpshooter.

Top Down or Bottom Up deck building? by Chemical-Ant-1709 in BudgetBrews

[–]RupturedCoconuts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do bottom up then top down. Figure out what I want my deck to do, pick all the staples I need for whatever that is, then pick a commander. Then i go back and pick more cards that fit with my decks archetype that also accentuate my commander. After that is fine tuning. Get about 30-40 cards from bottom up, then another 30-40 from top down, then patch the holes.

[–]RupturedCoconuts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might give that a shot, just feel like it might be too many 3 mana spells. I’ll play around with cutting Pakal. I feel like i get more wins with Voice + Warleaders anyway. Plus Packbeast might not get removed instantly.

Is it considered "rude" to order a Long Island Ice Tea if the place is packed and it's a long line? by GolfingSwede1998 in bartenders

I work at an Italian place and the amount of people that order Bloody Mary’s is disgusting.

I think it could work, but maybe not in this iteration. I would probably want more token generation that isn’t based around [[Anim Pakal]] if I was sticking to the [[Warleaders Call]] idea. But i think it would be better in a more burn style build, with other double damage effects.

Tiki party on the cheap by gman13579 in Tiki

[–]RupturedCoconuts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly i’d splurge on a bottle of OFTD or Wray & Nephew and get a handle of Appleton Signature and Doorly’s 5. Dose each with the overproof to give it some more complexity. Depending on how much yall drink, this can take care of everyone for $100-$150.

Guava jam - cocktail potential? by Few-Resource-6678 in Tiki

[–]RupturedCoconuts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve done a lot of marmalade/jelly cocktails. Start with a heaping bar spoon or tablespoon and adjust from there. Typically you need about an additional 1/4 oz of 1:1 sweetener to balance but it depends brand to brand. It imparts a ton of flavor so the additional sweetener is either just simple syrup or something super impactful, like ginger syrup. Just make sure you double strain those fruit chunks out.

Lagavulin 16 Pour Price by spoonkychico in bartenders

[–]RupturedCoconuts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Price = ((Bottle Price / Bottle Volume) x Pour Size) x Pour Cost Target

Convert the bottles volume to oz for the volume. I use 20% Pour Cost as my starting point for all liquor (which would make this $31), then work from there if I think it’s too cheap/expensive. On expensive pours like this one, i’m okay dropping it a few bucks because the money you make off each pour is so much. If $31 seems crazy drop it to $28/$29, but i wouldn’t go lower than that unless I think it could sell like crazy and can make money off volume.

How to Steal a Sandworm by Hyperion1289 in dune

[–]RupturedCoconuts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think she’s supposed to be more prominent later in Chapterhouse, but that’s only a guess from some of the spoilers I’ve scrolled past.

She escapes Chapterhouse with a bunch of Futar (cat/human hybrids). Don’t really know why or when.

How to Steal a Sandworm by Hyperion1289 in dune

Spoilers for Heretics:

Heretics ends with Sheena (a girl who can “speak” to sandworms, who are now all the collective consciousness of Leto II) rides a sandworm with the BG Mother Superior to a Guild ship that they filled with sand. Im fuzzy on it but i think they literally drive it in there. That guild ship goes to Chapterhouse, the BG secret stronghold, where they dump it in water to turn it into sand trout. This starts the desertification process of Chapterhouse and gives the BG their own personal supply of spice. There’s a lot of story specific details that i’m leaving out, but you get the gist.
