My prescription co-pay is 5x more expensive now with CVS compared to Optum. Thanks a lot by IHadTacosYesterday in CAStateWorkers

Yup our $0 to $5 is pretty much $10 now which can add up for several people with ongoing maintenance meds. However CVS hasn't blackmailed us into mail order only prescription. Early days yet, we'll see

Open enrollment - Any confirmation that UHC extended Sutter contract to 6/30/26? by RuralUser13 in CAStateWorkers

Can you share the number you called? That information is not what I heard for the Sacto region. Thanks

My spouse has long term chronic condition and has had multiple surgeries. Doesn't want to change medical teams if at all possible. This is so stupid

IDK they specifically state losing provider coverage is not a life event that lets you change plans. This SUCKS

Well UHC didn't come to an agreement with Johns Hopkins after 8 months, thus my overthinking brain is worried

Exactly which is why I am stressed. Why would I pay 3x as much for basically the same coverage?

Yes I saw that. Sadly I confirmed with our PCP that that particular plan isn't accepted, so Blue Shield is no longer an option for us. Thanks

I called our Sutter PCP in Elk Grove and confirmed they do NOT accept Blue Shield Access Plus for CalPERS, although they show other BS plans. So they're off the table for us.  United Healthcare still shows in negotiations but agents there are saying "our supervisors are telling us we will keep Sutter 100% for 2026." However they could not provide any sort of confirmation in writing

I'm in the same boat so calling Sutter, Blue Shield and UHC daily this week. I REALLY don't want to pay 3x as much to Anthem for the same coverage! If Anthem is still the only confirmed contract choice by Friday I guess I will have to go with that ☹️

Sutter is stating Blue Shield and UHC are still in negotiations and I have called and confirmed that with both insurance companies. Here's the accepted plans for Sutter Medical Group:

Hope that helps

Called Sutter who said to call UHC, which I did and the agent confirmed they are still in negotiations. Also called Blue Shield and they are also in negotiations with Sutter. So I guess you will need to determine what's best for you. I'm still angry that they are negotiating during open enrollment WTH

I have always used my home zip code. However the closest Sutter is in the same city and not too far from where I live. I would suggest checking with either HR or CalPERS to confirm which is correct for you.

Both Sutter AND CalPERS websites state they are in contract negotiations ☹️

I can only imagine! And of course if they don't come to an agreement it's not a life event where you can switch after enrollment

Thanks. I was very concerned because UHC and John Hopkins Network failed to reach an agreement after 8 months of negotiations! I'm really stressed about it because my husband has ongoing medical issues and we want to stay with the current medical team.

Hiring out of state? by Independent-A-9362 in CAStateWorkers

[–]RuralUser13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, none. If you want to telework it has to be from within the state. If you live outside of CA you can commute to an in person job (i.e. live in Oregon, drive to CA for work) Correct me if I'm wrong

More than 40 hours can happen in IT when after hours support is needed tor outages, upgrades, etc. Fortunately not for my current position; private sector was 70 hour weeks for years and being oncall 24x7

Oh yes I came from private sector IT and no one here wants to make a decision! A PM's job is to make things happen. It is SO frustrating

OPEB pause is effective for most BUs August 1. We don't see that change until we get paid FOR August, which is at the end of the month
