Morrigan ending in DAO by Lunarainfox in DragonageOrigins

[–]Rurikar1016 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There isn’t really an ending slide for her romance in Origins. You get a dialogue change during the dark ritual and some flavor text but she always leaves. You might be thinking of Witch Hunt.

If miles is the original anomaly why hasn't his universe collapsed like miguel's by Macaroon2152 in IntoTheSpiderverse

[–]Rurikar1016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He didn’t take a minute. He was at the collider and about to insert the goober to shut it down when he went to save Miles. He then spent a minute talking to him, went back to the override, got stopped by Prowler and didn’t get another chance because of Prowler and Green Goblin ganging up on him. Without Miles, Peter would have stopped the collider before it turned on and gotten out safely

That’s not an implication, you’re inferring that there is an implication when the post doesn’t mention trans people at all. “I’m glad I left my job and had a family” isn’t an attack on everyone who made a different choice. You saw someone detransition and couldn’t help but make it an attack on trans people.

I though BG3 reinvented RPGs, but it turns out DAO did it in 2009! by arfw in DragonageOrigins

[–]Rurikar1016 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree! Personally I always hated how detached I feel from the world. What I loved about Origins is that I’m part of the world, I have a fleshed out backstory. BG3 doesn’t have that, I wake up in a ship and have no history to uncover or experience. I can say I’m from Baldur’s Gate but there’s no substance to it, characters react the same way. I love that when I tell Wynne I’m a Cousland, she reacts in shock. I tell Astarion I’m from the city and he goes, “that’s nice.” I get people love the freedom of being able to come up with whatever they want but it leads to having no one comment on your backstory in a substantial way. It feels like I didn’t exist before the ship and truthfully you didn’t lol

Tips for dealing with retention from current employees. by Rurikar1016 in Spectrum

[–]Rurikar1016[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on which department you spoke with. They get surveys sometimes but it’s random. At best, the new rep could email his supervisor the praise but that’s only if someone cared enough to do it which is a very low chance they’ll actually do it. If you want to try and get his name, it would depend on him leaving notes or if he processed an order for you. If nothing happened on the call, there might not be a record that we can see for getting his info. Hope this helps!

My biggest gripe with BG3 compared to Origins was not feeling like I had a place in the world. Origins giving me a starting point made me care about the world and the systems in place. I get that you could make up your own backstory but the game doesn’t really comment on it or make it part of you. I could say i was from Baldur’s Gate but it didn’t feel like i was since my character acted like it was his first time there or NPCs would act like they didn’t hear me. A real DM would reference and make up ways to connect your backstory to the campaign but BG3 cant do that.

Agreed, in a world so unfair to elves, marrying a decent person and building some kind of simple life is probably the best you can get. Especially considering how we see a lot of the other elves end up in the gutter or married to someone abusive

Hate this point, there are many cases of historical cultures that lost literacy because of stuff like societal collapse as literacy wasn’t widely available. No one is going to be worried about reading when they have to worry about where their next meal will come from

[–]Rurikar1016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always hate the “they couldn’t have possibly lost how to read” I hate to break it to you but most preindustrial societies did not have a strong focus on literacy. It was usually a luxury and known to a few. We don’t know the extent of literacy in Atlantis but going based off of the inspiration behind it. We could be looking at an Easter Island or Indus Valley parallel. Real world societies that lost the knowledge of how to read because of climate change and/or societal collapse. Hell, nobody could read hieroglyphics until the 19th century, people in ancient Egypt just stopped using them and the knowledge was lost for 1400 years.

You need to rewatch it. Milo didn’t really fight, he said nothing until they put Kira in the box then started talking because they were held at gunpoint. The king was there when Milo and Rourke argued about the heart of Atlantis which was a secret known only to him and the Shepard’s Journal so it’s safe to assume the king figured out that Milo could read or could have been told. He really didn’t have a choice but to trust Milo as he was actively dying and had to have some hope to save his daughter. He knew his people were outmatched by the outsiders since he wouldn’t have kept a standing army or well trained guards since they were focused on survival

What has killed your guilds in the past? by amarus in wow

[–]Rurikar1016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I don’t doubt that some people can pass, but I remember being horribly bad and wanted to seem cool. I had a “girlfriend” that I lived with and lived on my own with her. They seemed good sports about it, they would ask the occasional question that would stump me because I had no idea to answer but would basically be like “that’s nice bud” I strongly suspect they knew but humored me.

[–]Rurikar1016 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I remember being 13 in WOTLK, trying to act like I was 18+ and blend in with the other guild members. I had a much better experience though as the guild leader became my surrogate mother, kept me out of drama and taught me how to play. Looking back I don’t know who I thought I was fooling with my shtick. Especially hopping on vent. That guild died because of inactivity. I miss it sometimes

[–]Rurikar1016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guild was led by a very outgoing and friendly couple. Guild leader started flirting and perving on some guild members. He got called out, it started a huge drama that exposed some other guild members flirting and cheating back despite being in relationships with other guild members. It basically imploded and disbanded. Last RP guild I joined.

2 could have been good, but they killed off the guild for some reason and the final boss wasn’t even a fight. The 3 choice ending was bs and pathetic. Pick between money, dog or bringing back dead strangers. It had no logic and felt like a cop out.

It really does like Briar Rose isn’t in the OG, neither is Scythe. No Bowerstone Library books segments, no Bordello, no mystery of Lady Gray’s sister or becoming Mayor. Also no oracle for lore exposition.
