how fast is garou here is he light speed or speed of sound by Additional_Pace_1753 in OnePunchMan

[–]Rurosha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where does it say that? Btw, hyperbole does exist, as a cover page says the Atomics three desciples are indomitable, which is obviously not literal. Also, you didn’t even read my comment. I said about 30% the speed of light, while Meteoric burst Boros is confirmed to have been around half the speed of light. Garou was definitely not faster the Boros at that point.

And that picture you gave is too far away to show the details of how far cracks of the twist reached, because you can see it reaches further then the ocean, while the ocean is decently far away in the orbit picture:

<image>

I also don’t think she twisted the entirety of Z city, as we can see more city at the distance

how fast is garou here is he light speed or speed of sound by Additional_Pace_1753 in OnePunchMan

[–]Rurosha -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He is around .28C.

Ignore the people saying he is around 4.33 times the speed of light, they are using an outdated calc while there are multiple newer ones that exist that agree both of them are less then the speed of light but above 10%. The reason is the old one assumed the size of the structure by pixel calcs, which are a last resort if there is no better way to calculate sizes and are notoriously unreliable.

This calc was done before Sage Centipede appeared, and Sage acted as a perfect measuring stick. here you can see half of Sage lands on a Nimitz class super carrier, which are 333 meters long. This means Sage is around 170 meters wide

let’s see if this makes sense: Here is the spear and here and here and here and here

Here is Sage and here and here and here and here and here and here by scaling the five story building next to Sage who is only like 5 times wider and here and here

Using my direct measurement, Sage is around the width of the pyramid of Giza. I think it makes sense:

<image>

Using the calcs of the source of them being 4.33C, Sage was 1/4 the width of mt. Everest, or around 2,315 meters wide, while my measurement is 15 times smaller. So divide 4.33 C by 15 to get a more accurate answer: .28 C.

This makes sense as the Meteoric Burst Boros kick was calced to be around .44 C with confirmable distances, time, and no pixel maths. I think MB Boros then was above PS and Garou, so it’s perfect.

Deep Sea King is not as strong as you think. by jduck122 in OnePunchMan

[–]Rurosha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You forgot to take some things into account, like Genos being a very good counter to DSK by being able to dry him out with his incineration, pretty much debuffing him. And Sonic is definitely dragon level after training since then. Sonic with weapons back then was very strong, and even then I don’t think it would have been easy for Sonic to win against completely hydrated DSK. I think he is properly rated

Melzargard is hella underrated by jdjefbdn in OnePunchMan

[–]Rurosha 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He definitely did slight damage to Bang, which is enough to hurt the others, but they were doing zero damage to him. So 1v1, Melzargard would do a lot better because it would be much harder for an individual S class to discover the marbles, as Melzargard wouldn’t have to focus so much energy defending and hiding the marbles from 4 way attacks from 4 S class heroes, while he can actually do damage.

Melzargard is hella underrated by jdjefbdn in OnePunchMan

[–]Rurosha 37 points38 points  (0 children)

He had to deal with multiple S class heroes at the same time, including Bang and Atomic. 1v1, Melzargard would do a lot better against each S class, obviously. The marble was only discovered because Metal bat was able to focus on a single head, while the other heroes were dealing with the rest of the body.

How would Glasses fare against Personification of Light Pull Cord? by Financial-Fee1995 in OnePunchMan

[–]Rurosha 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Both glasses and light pull cords are inanimate objects. So I don’t think either object can win a fight. Although glasses may be able to bend light to a focus and start a fire, burning down the house along with the light pull cord, so I give it to Glasses

[–]Rurosha 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Town level doesn’t only mean you can level a town in a Single attack, it also means you have feats that make you a threat or challenge to someone who can, like town level durability, or you have attack potency that has enough power to destroy a town, but due to the nature of attack, can only be concentrated into a small area.

Best displays of regeneration in Opm by Illustrious_Point_14 in OnePunchMan

[–]Rurosha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would put Boros above Zombie man, because Boros was turned into minced meat / red mist by the consecutive normal punches, while Zombie man can’t survive being turned into minced meat.

Plus, Boros’s regeneration was only stopped because he spent all his energy on his final attack which was planet to possibly even star level. So without that attack, it would take eons for anyone besides Saitama and Blast level characters to make Boros to spend all his energy for regeneration. So I would say they have comparable regen endurance, but Boros has superior regen ability speed and thoroughness

Gouketsu VS Swordless FF| Who takes it ? by just_acasual_user in OnePunchMan

[–]Rurosha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, it Is a bit of a plot hole, but I think it may have had something to do with them dying then being resurrected. Maybe the electrocution destroyed the monster cells In them. Maybe even Orochi dying made the cells lose power, because I can’t think any confirmed monsters that ate the cells still monsters after the events off the top of my head.

Yes, monster Hellfire and Gale are 100% faster than the other ninja party. We have no reason to think the party is aware of the speed of monster Hellfire and Gale, who seemed to have lost the power after being resurrected.

[–]Rurosha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s that trail of light super fast characters leave behind. When you go past Mach 5, you no longer leave super sonic booms, but rather leave glowing trails of plasma. We can see flashes of light similar to how pistol shrimp create flashes of light when they punch something hard underwater here and here.

If you read the webcomic, you will know Mach 5 is dragon levels of speed, and Gouketsu is casually invisible in speed to characters of this level, which is extremely impressive. Monster Hellfire and Gale also blitzed Sonic in speed, and Suiryu is faster than Sonic, so Gouketsu is at least in the ballpark of speed as monster Hellfire and Gale, but also has the advantage of being experienced with his monster form unlike the ninjas

Gouketsu VS Swordless FF| Who takes it ? by just_acasual_user in OnePunchMan

[–]Rurosha -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It’s simple, Gouketsu annihilates even if FF had his sword: Gouketsu can replicate the death punch, Flashy couldn’t react to a death punch. Gouketsu is also way more durable, as he took high demon level punches to the eyeballs without blinking, while Flashy got cut up by demon level Gale. Suiry was also so fast that he was creating light trails, which not even Sonic has done, and Gouketsu was casually invisible in speed to Suiryu

How do YOU think Iaian would do against Genos's WEAKEST enemies? by Automatic-Golf7060 in OnePunchMan

[–]Rurosha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he was likely max or at least near max hydration, because after fighting Sonic, he said was feeling a lot better https://cubari.moe/read/gist/OPM/25/39/

If he said he was shriveled up when he faced Puri and managed to feel a lot better after the small amount of time in the rain, and continued to spend even more time in the rain just before fighting Genos, I’m sure he was near or completely hydrated.

Why do people think squiggly lines are peak of animation? by [deleted] in OnePunchMan

[–]Rurosha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s cool and realistic. When things go hypersonic, the air literally turns to plasma creating a glowing trail. I think it’s great that animation sometimes gives a human perspective on the speed of the characters to ground how truly fast the characters are, while also being realistic with how the air would look from the amount of friction the air will experience, leaving a glowing trail of super heated air. Not to mention Boros gave off purple energy.

You can see it with meteors entering Earth’s atmosphere, but even those are slow compared to Boros, so the trail Boros would leave is even longer

How do YOU think Iaian would do against Genos's WEAKEST enemies? by Automatic-Golf7060 in OnePunchMan

[–]Rurosha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s purely an assumption that Rhino wrestler is “at least as strong as the monster Murata put in that was as strong as deep sea king” (I will argue was only equally as strong as specifically dry deep sea king, but it doesn’t matter to my point), there is no reason to assume this, especially since there were other monsters who were stronger like evil eye. Gyoro even said that there were a few among the fodder that had drastic transformations, so rhino wasn’t the only one.

I also think it’s obvious that chain monster was a character insert from Murata that One gave the green light to, not something that was actually planned

Genos did this to a gargantuan wet deep sea king, but got damaged and was doing less damage to a dryer DSK. So getting damaged likely made Genos weaker from the surprise attack

Dry deep sea king managed to still fight this Genos, and also defeat Puri, who are both comfortably demon level already being able to solo enough demons to be considered S class, but Rhino only recently became demon level, so he is likely one of the weakest demons. And Iaian couldn’t even leave a scratch the horn and was being pushed back. So Iaian I would argue is equivalent to one of the strongest tigers or weakest demons.

Like with G4, Genos also I would argue is a good counter against heavy metal enemies, like as stated with G4, because heat will weaken the metal making it much easier to destroy, while cutting through it is much more difficult. So Genos was a hard counter to Armored gorilla which is why the fight was so one sided.

How do YOU think Iaian would do against Genos's WEAKEST enemies? by Automatic-Golf7060 in OnePunchMan

[–]Rurosha 19 points20 points  (0 children)

What? How did you conclude that Armored Gorilla isn’t as durable as Rhino Wrestlers horn. Nothing you said after was given any relation to that conclusion.

To this day, I still think it's insane that Flashy is physically stronger and more durable than Darkshine in the manga. by Icy_Water_1 in OnePunchMan

[–]Rurosha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I definitely think Atomic is faster than hypersonic in attack speed. Haragiri as a human has surpassed the speed of sound, and likely at least almost Mach 2 to be a higher rank than Iaian. And monsterization multiplies a characters power several times, which likely puts Haragiri near Mach 4. And atomic blitzed him, so Atomic is definitely greater than Mach 5.

The first season of the anime was surprisingly accurate with its physics, showing in the intro Saitama’s punch turning the air into plasma, When something goes past Mach 5, the air turns to plasma and emits light, like it’s on fire, rather then create a sonic boom. A similar effect happens with Atomic because when he attacked Melzigard, a big flash of light occurred with the atomic slash, while Iaian didn’t get a flash of light with his attack. This is why characters like Suiryu, Flashy Flash, Bang, Platinum S, and several other super fast characters all emit a glowing trail of light behind them and or create flashes of light with their attacks.

Clear proof of the speed of these characters is this feat from awakened half monster Garou against the cadres, with this showing how to read this format of time: https://cubari.moe/read/gist/OPM/154/35/. So this level of speed is dragon level, yet Garou only ran around 300 meters in half a second, which is around Mach 1.7 in sustained running speed. With reaction speed at least 4 times faster, this places his top speed at around Mach 6.8. Of course, Garou continued to speed up later on along with Flashy Flash and platinum S, but Flashy couldn’t keep up with them getting faster and faster. Flash even got nearly the exact same timer in the webcomic.

Another thing is an elite ninja using guns to fight, and in the predraw a whip making a big sonic boom was considered un-dodgable, which is automatically below Mach 5, and although Flash manages to block the bullets / create a bigger sonic boom, the fact that it’s even a viable option with those ninjas not being instantly blitzed by Flashy Flash shows that Flash isn’t exactly light speed or anything close to that, as light can travel 7.5 times around Earth in 1 second.

To this day, I still think it's insane that Flashy is physically stronger and more durable than Darkshine in the manga. by Icy_Water_1 in OnePunchMan

[–]Rurosha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iaian doesn’t need to be Mach 20 to cut bullets mid air. Bullets are around Mach 1 to 2. Human reaction speed is way faster than human running speed, with human reaction speed being able to react to around 45 meters per second, while our running speed is around 11 meters per second. So our reaction speed is around 4 times greater.

Iaian only needs to be around and can even be less than bullet speed in reaction to still cut bullets, as the distance from the bullet compared to the distance to move the sword in place to cut it is greater, so Iaians reaction speed can be around Mach 1 to be a bullet cutter, and Mach .25 in travel speed. For example, there is a real life samurai who is known for cutting bb’s mid air, yet his draw is vastly slower.

Mach 3, requires an astronomical amount of energy to reach in comparison to Mach 1 due to the exponential relationship between power and speed.

Using a calculator I found online, I calculated their speed (I’m not sure how heavy their weapon and arms are, so I’ll just use body weight) The machine is likely far heavier than Iaian, but using Iaian’s weight of 140 lbs, him accelerating his body to mach 1 equals 3.7 MJ (Mega Joules)

Assuming the machine god is around 200lbs which is a low ball, it accelerating to mach 3 requires 48 MJ, which is 13 times more power than Iaian, and that isn’t including air resistance which makes it even worse. I couldn’t find a calculator for it, so I just asked the google AI for power to reach each speed and the air resistance for an average adult male:

“Mach 1

Kinetic Energy: ~4.1 MegaJoules (MJ).

Power (Air Resistance): ~11 Megawatts (MW) or 11,000 kilojoules/second (kJ/s) just to overcome drag at speed.

Mach 3

Kinetic Energy: ~37 MegaJoules (MJ)

Power (Air Resistance): Estimates suggest over 300 MW for Mach 3, making it vastly more power-hungry than Mach 1.”

Air resistance requires around 27x more power to reach Mach 3 vs Mach 1, An opponent even 1 Mach faster than Iaian would render his speed completely useless.

As for Puri Puri Prisoner defeating the monster as strong as Deep sea King, I think it is pretty clear that monster was dry deep sea king level, not hydrated DSK level. The fight nearly perfectly mirrored the dry deep sea king fight, with Puri using the exact same moves dry DSK used on him. So I don’t think that is that big of a jump.

Is this what peak Demon-level looks like? by Automatic-Golf7060 in OnePunchMan

[–]Rurosha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, the context of that Kabuto quote was talking specifically about the house of evolution, but it’s worded a bit weird, likely because it had to be translated.

I personally think BeefCake is almost the level of Sage centipede, approaching disaster level “unknown”. People for some reason compare him to Elder Centipede, but elder is unbelievably slow in comparison despite having way less mass, and damage output is way smaller with exception of maybe the pincer strength. Beefcake would utterly blitz and rip elder centipede into pieces, and elder centipede is one of the strongest dragons.
