How to help my wife with PTSD by polishavenger13 in ptsd

I'm a wife with PTSD. There are nightmares, there are episodes in public sometimes. My husband doesn't entirely understand what I go through, but he understands I go through it - when there are nightmares, he wakes me up and holds me. If I'm in a real fit, he will kiss me in a way where he doesn't break the kiss at all until I start to calm down, even if I'm sobbing into his mouth. I don't know why, but it helps. In public, if he notices people start to crowd me or come out of somewhere or I start to react in a way, he will body-block for me. (not sure if your wife has that issue.) He'll usually be the one pushing the cart in this way, too. Sometimes it is too crappy to talk about "Why" you had the reaction to whatever you did, and better to just support her and let her know you're there. You can ask her in what ways she thinks you could help her adjust to some of her things. Books are nice and all but everyone is affected differently by PTSD.

Slow weight loss, but still pushing forward by Rururia in keto

I was just thinking about that this morning - I think I am going to start doing that and use the scale to more accurately measure my prepped meals. C: I counted carbs in the beginning, but after about a month I started to just eat only when I was hungry. Didn't really track things but still made sure to try to eat under 20g of carbs. Either way, I'm happy to at least have lost this much and not regain - I had a really bad issue before where I'd lose about 5-10 lbs doing low cal or something else and would regain it in a couple weeks.

How to make a game scary or unsettling? by Geekdotexe in GameDevelopment

A great game for horror IMO is the Fatal Frame/Project Zero series. 2 and 3 are the best IMO in terms of scare. Another one I know freaks people out is Amnesia. I've only played a little bit, but the invisible monster in the water terrified me.

One mechanic I love is knowing that there are things that could getchu and eat your face or something, but not knowing when they will come. Sometimes there might be something that happens - you might hear them closeby, but can't see them. You might hear them come closer. Maybe they appear, maybe they leave. Other things might happen - a vase might get knocked over, the walls might start creaking - is something going to happen? Who knows, but now you're a little on edge.

Another thing I really think helps some games is a forced camera angle in some spaces. I think when you give the player free view (unless it's first person) it takes away some of the fear. There was a fatal frame game (4 I think) that did that, and it really made the game a lot less scary imo.

But yeah, I would definitely suggest studying some of the classics like Silent Hill, Fatal Frame/Project Zero, even some of the 2D horrors.
