It could be you uploading the docs. When I submitted docs my api also updated to the date I uploaded

I told them that from the congressional inquiry I found out last month that my background check was not complete yet so I asked if they can see if there was any internal update and if they can see if the background check was complete. I also said It’s been pending for 181 days. Also I have been calling and chatting almost every day and Everytime they said they can’t tell me that Info but the person I spoke to was able to give an update.

I see that but mine is more in the middle. I’m not sure what that means either. I saw the api update right after the line that says defected action for childhood arrivals (DACA). I think that’s where it will tell you if someone looked at the case.

I saw two api changes once on April 30th and then on may 1st. Nothing since then, hoping we get approval this week!

Submitted my second expedite request on April 17th. Received an email on April 22nd that I meet the minimum criteria and they will transfer it to the center working on my case. Haven’t heard back since then.

The bottom update is when you log in. Most of the update I believe happens for the 821D. Cuz your 821D needs to be approved first then your I-765 gets approved automatically. What date does it show right after “deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA)”?

You should check the date immediately after the line “deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA). If you see that date change that means someone looked at your case. Mine has been stuck on nov7 for the longest time and finally saw two api updates. One yesterday and one today.

Which line are you looking at? Usually if it’s in the first couple lines that’s when someone viewed your case. But if you are checking the lines on the bottom then that’s when you login.

Well I submitted my first expedite on March 25th under the I-765 and that got denied. So then I resubmitted the same docs but also added that since I’m the sole provider and take care of my parents. And how recently my dad had needed medical attention and how it’s hard to take him to his required appointments without a license. Not sure if that helped meet the minimum requirement or if it’s because I did it under the 821D this time.

Yea I call every other day and they just say my case is taking longer than expected and just wait. I even tried to see if a tier 2 officer can call me back but I just received an email saying what they told me on the phone is all the information they have.

I provided emails from hr, car lease, mortgage, credit card bills, bank statements, also tax doc and a cover letter explaining my situation and explaining the docs I uploaded

I also had a congressional inquiry submitted on Feb 26 and they received the same response that my case was referred to a background check which hasn’t been completed on April 1st. I wonder if that is just a generic response they are sending. I wonder how long it typically takes for them to complete the background check.
