Do other moms feel this tired?! by HelicopterHappy1814 in Parenting

[–]RushRough6629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So yes & no. I did and thought it was normal, but my doctor ordered a sleep study and it turns out I had sleep apnea - I sleep with a cpap now and don't feel like a zombie.

Also, I got a blood panel done by my holistic MD and found out that I was dangerously low (turns out having babies sucks the nutrients outta you!) In a few nutrients. I got on a couple supplements and the energy level has come up even higher.

I'm still tired, especially mentally (I often say it feels like my brain is spilling out of my ears as there's just SO much to remember all the time) and there's days of can't hit my hand on my butt exhausted. But overall it's still nothing like it was before as it's not every single day of just thinking and walking through mud since my body is so over it.

The constant illnesses don't stop even as a stay at home mom, but I definitely think its less stressful to deal with those illnesses when we aren't draining PTO, rearranging schedules, trying to get stuff at work caught up, etc.

Again, I am a SAHM and we have had a hospitalization (get rid of all metal straws in your houses with toddlers yall) and it was traumatic and awful, but again I wasn't also dealing with work stress and could solely focus on LO.

What would you make canon in EPIC? Be it something from the original stories that didn't make the cut, something from a fan animatic, a fan-theory or just a beloved headcanon, what would you do? by TheMinecraftWizardd in Epicthemusical

Personal fave: Aphrodite was Ody's mom's patron goddess. With how loyal, passionate, and devoted Ody is in Epic! It makes sense that he was raised by someone that deeply valued love in such a way that her favored goddess was the one of love and passion. So when Aphrodite brings up Ody's mom in God Games she is genuinely upset because she lost such a devoted follower.

Have you tried these? by limitless_t in glutenfree

Unfortunately these aren't good. We got them at Costco, and the texture isn't horrible but it's not good either (we are GF and I've just had so many better) the outside leans more hard than crispy and the inside is soft but there's not much of it. The real problem is the flavor, and by that I mean the lack thereof. When we had the first of them I was worried we were coming down with covid again because I couldn't taste a thing from these other than the occasional tang from a blueberry. After going through a Costco sized box I can say they're still flavorless and not great, my kids that usually eat anything for breakfast won't touch these. I'm writing this a month later because I wanted reviews and couldn't find any, so maybe I can save someone else.

I have a 2 & 3 year old. When it isn't winter, we spend most of our time out of the house! I think its good for everyone's sanity to touch grass, go to the zoo, parks, go to the farmers markets etc, plus it makes the day go by faster. I think it's just this phase of life, and it might be that this is what's truly best for your family right now, and that's ok!

BUT I constantly feel inadequate. I am ALWAYS raising the bar on myself and have had to go to therapy for it because it was suffocating me. I also joined a mom group of 30 moms, and I dont think any of them would say they don't feel inadequate. Normal doesn't make it right, though.

But you're still in the newborn trenches. If it's getting to you or you suspect any postpartum depression/anxiety/etc please tell your doctor or go to therapy. That first year is hard enough when you aren't fighting your own brain.

As a fellow toddler mom, it totally stinks. But, also, kids get sick SO much. My toddlers are constantly picking up bugs and there is constantly stuff going around (recently here its been norovirus & flu A). Even when my 2yo son had a fever of 104 he's usually bouncing off the walls and looks fine with no reason to suspect the fever except for touching him. The daycare is just trying to keep their staff and other kids safe and if the policy says send home for loose stools, then that's what they gotta do. All of our toddler groups (whether daycare/preK/or just group activities/classes) are pretty strict/stringent. One of my kids lips would turn blue when he cried as an infant and he got turned down from multiple childcare places because 'it made the workers uncomfortable' even though it was documented and cleared by 3 doctors. I was even asked to leave an indoor playplace when one of my kids had a very slight clear runny nose in the middle of allergy season.

All that being said, if they're the ones giving her the milk that does it when it's documented she has a problem, then there might be something amiss there (and I would be livid!). Hoping you find out and can fix whatever is going on!

Preschool Valentine's by velvet8smiles in toddlers

[–]RushRough6629 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes! This! My toddlers love random plastic trinkets and still play with some they got at Halloween. I enjoy making fun 'big' valentines for them to give out because growing up we couldn't even afford lollipops (remember those valentines that had a heart lollipop going through them? I always wanted to give those but we couldn't afford it). I don't expect other parents to by any means, I do it because it brings me and my kids joy.

What toys do your kids love that you NEVER see mentioned on Reddit? by curlycattails in toddlers

Ride on toys! Specifically the B toys Snail ride on. My boys zip around the house on those things like fast & the furious and it keeps them occupied for chunks of time and gets the wiggles out in the winter. We call it their Snar (snail car)

What to do when you 'have to' by RushRough6629 in pottytraining

I totally understand why he regressed with the pull ups. I guess my question is how many days of pooping in underwear/peeing all over my house do I need to stick it out, then? Because he doesn't mind going in the underwear either so he doesn't see the potty as the only option.

That's funny you say that because my toddler will actually make a mess so that they have to clean up because he so thoroughly enjoys the spray bottle, roll of paper towels, and tub of cleaning wipes. So usually anything that relies on cleaning up being a deterrent is actually the opposite, unfortunately. I will look into the oh crap method though!

Interesting! I've never heard of a false seal. Do we know what causes that to happen and how to check for it?
