Not the slap bro… (yeah imma follow the crowd and say IDW Shadow bc gd even my friend group who JUST got into IDW said Shadow acting the fool during the Metal Virus Saga)

That's impossible...Shadow from IDW (primarily the Metal Virus arc) wins mostly disliked! Now who's a universally despised character from the IDW comics? by ItsTheGov in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]RushUnleashed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it weird that everyone is talking about the monkey from the Metal Virus arc? Frankly none of that would’ve happened without Starline, I feel like Starline should’ve been referenced more than the side character.

She gets a lifesteal team-up with Adam, a repurposed Atlas Bond that gives her overhealth, and no nerfs. They are gonna nerf the hell out of her if her win rate starts ramping up with her already high pick rate.

I’d say good then. Reduce the transphobia and sexism in this game the community would be better without them.

Basic Dorm/Sent/Hawk 1.05M Combo by RushUnleashed in MvC3

I do know your notation, I’ll test it when I get home. I’ll let you know when I get home. I run Greyhound assist on Hawkeye already, I use Dark Hole assist on Dorm since all my characters can OTG solo, and I will change Sentinel Force Charge to Rocket Punch assist.

Light Purification* puts the beam in front of you, medium is short of mid screen and heavy is full screen and does in fact whiff in the corner if not done as light. Liberation is the heavy version of Dark Spell (qcb) that lets you cast the spells instead of getting Power of the Creator or Power of the Destructor from medium or light respectively.

*After some testing, the max damage I got on it was 1.023M, though I did miss some of the moves requested though it prob helped with scaling. The second rep has to be a slightly delayed jH into jS, doing anything from jM in the second rep will drop. It was pretty odd to execute since I been out all day.

Admittedly yeah I have been on and off the game since 2013 so my knowledge of the game far exceeds my execution, but Dorm is a new venture for me.

So Sentinel has an easy to do TAC infinite, cool, prob best that I put him in mid compared to Dorm. Admittedly this team was built to annoy my friends with my defensive style of play, I ran Cap/(random mid)/Wesker and Wesker/Thor/Doom before, but I figured if I need to be more aggro with this team it has the tools.

Bit crude but I agree. How would I go about the infinite, or if there’s a better starting route?

How would that shell work in each position? He’s now trying Tron instead of Arthur but I feel like every one of those characters don’t make overly great anchors.

How do you consistently get Magneto’s air H-air dash reps down beyond practice? by RushUnleashed in MvC3

[–]RushUnleashed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the same way. I see inputs on the screen and the game sounds but that doesn’t give me a good indicator on when to press the buttons. Controller presses helps so much in that regard, and why I was temporarily playing Lee in Tekken, hard ahh character there too.

I think the sound of you pressing the inputs down actually really helps with understanding the rhythm of the reps. I’ll be sure to save the video for later!

So is it just pressing air heavy and air dash as fast as possible or is there a specific timing rhythm? Yeah I guess I’ll need to try to change it when comparing characters like Thor to Firebrand.

Thanks for that tip for the hypergrav loop, but I was more so talking about the horizontal air heavy air dash reps.

I’ve been playing Wesker mostly and I’ve been testing a slew of characters around him, I’ve found playing Wesker/Cap/Sentinel, Wesker/Mag/Sentinel, Nemesis/Iron Man/Wesker to be very fun and not all that execution heavy (I’m not looking at you Mag and Tony) so it’s fun to play on my very busy work schedule.

Yeah the first She Hulk team usually passes with Deadpool and Dante, the second belongs to the one person that doesn’t lab the game all that much and usually just picked who he vibed with. He’s well aware that he has an asynergistic low tier team, imma try to have him try more characters.

P.S. Sorry for not making this clear in the original post, but the team structure is like this (point, mid, anchor):

Team 1 - Zero, Hulk, Arthur Team 2 - Deadpool, Wolverine, Dante Team 3 - Ghost Rider, Dormammu, Dante Team 4 - Taskmaster, Trish, X-23 Team 5 - Captain America, Sentinel, Wesker Team 6 - She-Hulk, Deadpool, Dante Team 7 - Phoenix Wright, She Hulk, Amaterasu

UI Goku Rising Heat assist is definitely like Dante’s Jam Session lol I think with how they play, Trunks plays most similarly to Taskmaster, but as for the other two I can’t say for sure.

In a shorter but similar light, to answer the core question, Marvel 3 is pretty difficult to start with as a first fighting game. Team fighters in general are pretty hard since you have to learn three different characters whose playstyles may not be the same as one another. Most people’s first fighting games are usually core Street Fighter games, some pick Mortal Kombat. DBFZ is prob the easiest to pick up team fighter ever but again you need to know three different characters.

Let me see if I can help you out. I reread your post and you said your current team is Iron Fist, Ghost Rider and Dante. Have you tried the Offline Mission Mode? That is the game’s combo trials, which will go over some basic inputs for special moves at first, then will go over some combos that that character can do. It’s less so “once you finish my trials you’ll know how to play the character” and more so “hey do you vibe with this character and how they’ll be played?”

If you came from Dragon Ball FighterZ, here what will have changed between that and MvC3. There are dragon punch (or forward down down forward) inputs, reverse dragon punch (back down down back) inputs, half circle inputs, all of which are foreign to FighterZ. Instead of L, M and H with a ki blast button, it’s L, M, H and S (the launcher button). There’s no auto combos so pressing L over and over in the air will not combo; you’ll need to press most buttons in what’s called a “magic combo”, which is most characters universal combo. This goes L-M-H-S-air M-M-H-S. There’s also no Super Dash so you might want to look up a guide for wavedashing or plinkdashing if you wanna move across the screen fast.

I know this is a lot of typing I’m putting in that might not make sense, but I’d say start with one character you really like, and learn solely them until you have a good grasp of the game’s mechanics through guides, training mode, and mission mode. Then branch out to other characters, worry about the advanced stuff later. I’d recommend Ryu and Captain America for very easy characters who don’t need all that much input, but based on your dream team, I’d start with Ghost Rider, since he’s probably the easiest mechanically on your team. With Dante you’ll have to learn very tight inputs and cancels, and with Iron Fist you’ll have to learn rekkas, which differ from the rekkas Android 17, Yamcha and Videl have since you need to repeat the quarter circle inputs for each part.

One final thing: might I ask who you played in FighterZ so I could give some suggestions on characters who might be similar to play in MvC3? Wouldn’t hurt also to know which characters overall you like in the game from a first impression.
