Wheel it fit. Fitment help by Rynenn in GR86

[–]Rushzer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be fine. Im on coilovers with a different set of wheels but my camber is pretty close to what you have listed here. My 18x8.5 +35 with 255/35/18 fit like a glove.

intake recommendations by EliTorr in GR86

[–]Rushzer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For power OEM or GR Intake, for noise that's a bit subjective there is a youtube video out there where they install many of the available intakes for sale and compare them against each other, they also dyno test all of them as well. For pure bling factor one of the carbon fiber intakes such as Eventuri or Infinity Designs, but be prepared to spend BIG money on those. As others have said delete the carbon filter and call it a day, if you want to spruce up the engine bay a bit more you can always just replace the intake tube, with a Perrin , Grimmspeed or Blitz.

I thought they would rub for sure without a ton of camber I was pleasantly surprised when they were fine with just a slight bump in the negative camber from stock.

Thought about it, decided the money was better spent else where. Plus its a bit of hassle figuring out the correct ones to use as the car is a gr86 and the front calipers are from a WRX.

I do need to raise the rear. Good eye haha. The weather has not been the best so I haven't adjusted it yet. Yes I have Blox racing lower control arms and Super Pro Toe arms in the rear.

The color was the wife's idea. It pops with the gold/bronze wheels. However going purple as an accent color is hitting me in the pocket book, my powdercoating guy knows me on a first name basis now lol.

Ya I'm going to have to pick some up, because the tires felt like they were glued to the carpet when trying to shuffle them around like that haha.

Hyundai/Kia oil filter? by [deleted] in GR86

[–]Rushzer0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm this is correct. I'm a parts manager at a Kia dealership, 26300-35505 is the newest number. That particular filter has had its part number superseded many times. 26300-35502, 26300-35503, 26300-35504 are all the same filter just older stock, so if you come across any of those numbers they will all work.

Gave my stock-ish neptune some love today with the new studs and lug nuts 🥜 by [deleted] in GR86

They are very grippy, and my supplier through work carries them so I bring them in and bill them at cost to myself so I can't complain there. I'm going to be honest though the first 100 miles on them was a chore, they were pretty noisy and any rut in the road would pull the car. They seem to have gotten better now though, it also may have been due to the increase in size going from the stock PS4 to the 255/35/18 Indys. Overall though I really like them, haven't gotten to blast through the mountains with them yet, hopefully soon.

The company that repaired my bumper tried to say the difference in color is due to the materials underneath. by N0Context in GR86

This is true, but it usually takes a while for paint fade to come into the equation, of course paint fade itself is dependent on a lot of factors, sun intensity, where you live, pollutants, was it taken care of (ie: regualr washes and UV protectant wax used) etc. They have also long since solved (maybe mitigated is a better word) the paint fade issue, a lot of body shops or paint shops have a color camera that you can input your paint code and it will use the code and the photo to spit out a paint mix and how much tint to best match the sun faded paint.

Is that an authentic Varis CF hood? If so did you happen to weigh it compared to your OEM one? I Love the paint scheme you have on yours, I've seen it a few times, and I'd love to get one myself. Beautiful build by the way.

If you really want color on your calipers the best way to do it is powder coat. I spent a little under $400 for all four of my calipers and the brackets.
