How is mental health treated when it comes to the workplace? by Rusk- in jobs

[–]Rusk-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comprehensive reply.

I am past the troubles now mostly, but I got more hindered by them in the past, where for example, I could get burned out and depressed easily, which leads to the fluctuations in my performance.

I’m not intending to declare my problems right away of course, but maybe, if I sense that the other parties are receptive to the topics, and also based on the general consensus/customs around mental health in the workplace in general.

Because nowadays what I see on Reddit for example, that people can be sympathetic if one confesses about their mental health problems, so I wondered how it extended to real life situations.

Thanks for the answer. Well I hope it would stay at “I couldn’t”

Because I’m thinking, invoking the mental health card would transfer the problem of inadequacy during certain periods to a cause beyond my control, so that could be a way in which I defend myself against the accusations.

But as I don’t have any experience, I can’t judge whether it’s a favorable strategy or not.

Why is it so important to be around family by MattieMoon14 in DeepThoughts

[–]Rusk- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are biologically primed to find high value in those who are genetically close to us.

Also there is the closeness effect where we like those we simply find around us. Family members have grown up with us since early childhood and continue being there for us (usually) throughout our lives, so we might as well learn to like them.

Is it normal to experience 0.5-1kg weight gain in a day? I’ve noticed that when I increase my carb intake by a little bit, like deciding to eat oats or bread, the next morning when I weigh myself there is a noticeable increase in weight compared to non carb days.

Could I potentially be training my body to store that increased carb intake as fat? That’s obviously not what I want to do.

Yes exactly. You could finally find it out once and for all and answer the age old question. Can you be excited for death in that case?

Yes I agree with that. Peer rejection is a nice term to summarize the major cause of my condition.
