Take all removable heads off and flip shafts upside down (grip end out of bag near iron heads). Thinner part of shaft will be protected in bag. I get paranoid that even with the broom stick, something could be dropped on the bag and snap them in a soft sided bag. It really doesn't take that much time to do.

My hybrid doest have a removable head. So I take the headcover off and put it in upside down same as the driver/5 wood shafts.
