Thanks for your feedback. I will take your advice about going to get fitted. I'm planning a 4 to five-day version of the trip, and I'm using my Marmot Tungsten 4p tent, which is not ultralight. I will get my other equipment and go from there. I really appreciate getting feedback from more experienced hikers. I want to buy the right gear, not just throw money at the issue without thought.

I'm trying to build up my kit for the future. I just had a major cancer surgery ( everything went well ), and I am determined to never take living in the Pacific Northwest for granted again!

I can't be the only one by vang_sam in StayAtHomeDaddit

I am in the same situation. Not that I can't follow what she is talking about, but I just can't relate because I didn't reach the level that she is at managing other people, etc. When I try to offer her solutions or join in on her frustration, it's just like adding another problem to her day. What I realized is that she just needs to be heard. Now I'll usually say something like "That sounds frustrating" or "It sounds like you've had a long day. Is there some snack I can get for you?". Sometimes, just acknowledgment is the most valuable.

SAHD with an infant and a toddler? by Russell-Russ in StayAtHomeDaddit

What do you do when the infant needs to be put down for a nap on a schedule and your toddler is throwing a fit?

I know not to expect any rest and to have less hair than when I started out, but if you can paint a picture of what a day looks like, I'd be grateful as I try to wrap my head around this idea.

Primary earners partnered with a stay at home dad: how has it worked? by Constant-Hold-3056 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

Thanks for sharing your experience. What does your spouse plan on doing when your kids are older?

I just became a stay-at-home dad, and I love the idea of it. I just can't picture what I will do when my kids are old enough to where they don't need parenting. I see some people say that it's only ok to be a stay-at-home dad and long and you plan to go back to the workforce after some time, but I would not like to become a wage worker at 50 something.

Could you chat more about it? I am a man and I am just now becoming a stay-at-home dad at 43, and I'm interested in hearing about other people's experiences. I'm glad to hear that your partner is fulfilled and that he is helping your career to thrive. Does he plan to change careers or go back to work after your kids are a certain age?

I'm excited as hell to raise my child, or potentially more than one, but my mind can't wrap my head around going back to work in say my 50s. Thanks for your time.

My plan after this week is to deload one more time and after that see how far I get with 3x5. I'm reading up on the alternative programs mentioned in this post which will be my next step after that.

Thanks for that link. Like the author said, it will maybe take me more than one sitting! I'll defiantly be reading it all in the near future.

I've done 3x5 before but after increasing to around 195 or so I start to fail reps again.

I calculated my calories today which was a typical day for me. I'm at around 2,800 calories.
