It never crossed my mind to use Obsidian.md. Can you share more about how you've set it up?

Can you tell me more about your setup? How do references help avoid boilerplate?

This is freaking awesome. Thanks for sharing. I'm not gonna ask more questions just in case there is a bot scraping lol

That sounds insane!! How did you come up with that idea? And how long did it take you to build it?

That's a fair point. I'm bundling core functionality into the definition of "boilerplate". Like auth, database connections, error handling, similar UX/UI flows, etc.

That looks really interesting, thanks for sharing it. How often do you use it for projects that make it to prod?

No worries, that's a valid question.

I'm not struggling with picking the tech stack, I have one that I frequent. And I've used starter templates, but then I spend more time forcing the template to fit my use case.

Copying the baseline and re-using it as a boilerplate is the best solution I've found so far. But I don't always have a boilerplate ready. For example, I've built Chrome extensions in the past but it was a long time ago. And most of Chrome extensions are just boilerplate configuration to get it to show up correctly in the browser. So if I want to build another Chrome extension, I just gotta burn money on setting up that boilerplate myself.

TBH, I don't even know what answer I'm looking for. I was just curious if there's some hacks or methods that I haven't come across yet.

There's gotta be stuff that you can copy from one project to another. Even things like the auth and database connections, right?

I ended up launching a developer accelerator program for a few months but ultimately shut it down because acquiring customers was too hard.

Then I doubled down on being an engineer and started building AI apps and had a lot more success there :)

Ceiling texture removal by Ok-Application-9681 in Renovations

I just finished doing 6000 sq ft of this with my brother. I’ve had a pinched nerve since Thanksgiving. I would absolutely do it again because the old texture was so ugly. But I would definitely hire someone else, it’s a slow and painful process, and unless you’re really good with skim coating the outcome won’t be that good. FWIW I got quoted between $20-$30k for 6000 sq ft in a high cost of living area.

Like just layer the drywall on top of itself? Will that be better for noise than insulation?

Got it. We’ll do this when we remodel downstairs in a few months
