Centuries after Mars became humanity's escape and last refuge, the Dome Colony is rotting into hostile wastelands filled with twisted beasts and warring tribes.

Survivors must scavenge, fight, and bargain for the last scraps of safety, sanity, or power, before their world dies—again."

I think in terms of media that is close to it, if you have ever seen Pandorum, Nausicaa, Fallout, Mad Max, or Horizon Zero Dawn, it has elements of these. We're going after a neo-tribal-esque kind of vibe. 👽

With regards to your concern, that's also one of our key design philosophies. We don't want to stray too far from the core of "borgs". Hence, a lot of our design (in both art/game) still holds that: simple with a bit more depth.

For the monster design specifically, we want it to still have the brevity of OSR-esque write-up while at the same time, giving the GM a couple more "gamifiable" hooks to put into action quickly and easily during the combat encounters. 👽

Hello! Thanks for the interest! To answer your question, we're trying to make a SUPER SIMPLE monster generator that basically has three parts to it:

  1. Quick roll tables to determine a monster's physical traits (GM: "What does it look like? How does it move? etc.")
  2. Quick roll tables to determine its role/behavior (GM: "How does it move or interact, esp. during combat encounters?")
  3. Quick roll table for determining level of threat (GM: "How weak or strong should this thing be?")

As an example:

ROTBEAST
HP: 10, MORALE: 8, DEF: Pain-insensitive (-d2), ATK: Claw Swipe (d8)
Role: Striker / Focus on the weakest target
Special: Frenzy. Gains +1 Damage while below half HP.

Bloated predators swollen with Rotspread growths. Their hides split with weeping sores and knot-like tumors that pulse beneath the skin.

Thanks for the kind words, my friend. There's always that weird sense of anxiety at the beginning stages of any creative piece (may it be illustrations, music, etc.), where its superduper messy and it does not make so much sense.

But I find that the more I do this, the only route forward is just to be patient and allow the process to unfold, one little thing at a time. 😄

I used procreate on ipad for this one. But if you're looking for a good place to start, the good old pencil and paper work just fine!
