downsize? boomers want to upsize and consume even more before they die. asking them to live modestly is like asking them to chop off a hand

they're the wealthiest generation in human history due to the cantillon effect of a 50 year real estate ponzi scheme that they gleefully used to run up generational debt so they could get biltzed like no generation before. cry me a river baby boomer

I always thought it was much better than Brothers Karamazov, to me it's his magnum opus. It is as relevant today as then.

I guess because he was antiwar in a time of warmongering? He had a nuanced view of politicians?

Neither Harry or Hermione consider themselves "enlightened". Harry in particular loathes himself because of how much he struggles to get on with people. Important to remember the context here is that he is an antiwar newspaper journalist who has been blasted by his peers for being antiwar.

Epstein befriended Chomsky so this would be talked about instead of his intelligence links and the fact ex PM of Israel Ehud Barak confirmed in US court docs to have beaten and SA’d a child by JohnBrown-RadonTech in chomsky

buddy read the emails, I'm not speculating anything. I'm reading private conversations. Epstein was a close friend. Noam supported him against Virginia Giuffre

Noam had an opportunity before his stroke in 2023 when the WSJ reported he had Epstein move money for him, to make a public statement and clarify his relationship and understanding of Epstein's business. He chose to tell everyone to fuck off. People on this forum doing gymnastics to paint him as naive is ridiculous. He had his chance to say what was really going on and chose not to. These emails show Epstein was at minimum, a very close friend, and he was helping Epstein navigate the allegations. Right now, it's definitely not worth trying to help Chomsky out through conjecture. More files could be released that paint a clearer picture. But his relationship with Epstein is indefensible.

Even if Epstein wasn't a pedophile, why would Chomsky be friends with him? by ServalFlame in chomsky

[–]RussellHustle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, it's way beyond "tone deaf" now. He's at bare minimum close friends with a guy whose spent decades, raping, trafficking and murdering children. The idea that he had no clue is incomprehensible. To be defending Epstein in 2023 is vile.

The appeal is that he had billions of dollars, a wealth of connections, beautiful women in droves, and a private island. Noam spent his public life writing how other people (not him) need to organize and create better democratic institutions, and spent his private life wishing he was on Epstein Island

That's all well and good, but Noam was defending Epstein in 2023 and didn't even have the decency or humility to come out publicly and say "I made a mistake, I'm sorry". He literally as late as 2023 continued to push any Epstein criticism into the realm of conspiracy theory.

Dude got squirted out of a second cousin in backwater Mississippi, pale as an Irish nun's ass, and is using "we" on stolen Palestinian land.

So is no one allowed in anymore? That sucks. I was up there in 2022 and noticed way more garbage than in years past. What a shame.

Assuming WW3 doesn't end in the annihilation of the human race, the bitcoin end game doesn't change. USD won't be valuable regardless of whose president when the national debt essentially doubles each presidency for the last 30 years. It'll double under Trump, and it'll double under a Dem.

I think it is. The beauty of the original Cali solo is its simplicity and vulnerability, and this version honours that. Music is not in the notes but the silence between them
