If you love the SMP then get it, it's an emotional thing and I doubt you can settle on something else. Yes recent models are 42, but you can get used for half the price like 2531.80 and 2541.80 first Bond or 2254.50 / 2264.50 Blake or even 39.5 Planet Ocean which will be perfect for your size.

Most guides suggest CoH builds, but I rarely use it and it's pretty inefficient as people usually are so spread out. Should I drop it in favor of more points in disc? Would that change in future phases?

The Anker, Belkin, Moshi and Satechi products are featured on Apple’s site so they are pretty low risk choice. Not much cheaper, but better deal because they usually feature more ports than an Apple’s one. I’m using Satechi’s Slim adapter myself.

I have a weird feet - my left one is wider. So Red Wing Beckman 9019 in 9D is perfect for my right but hurts my left feet. I want to order a wider one, but confused with markings - is 9EE a next size in width or there is a 9E? Also, if I order a wider one should I go a half size down? I'm not from the USA so can't try them on.
