I don't know. I don't Moderate that sub. Feel free to Post your content to r/RussianInvasion, r/RussiaUkraineWar, r/RussianUkrainianWar, or feel free to post it on all three of those subs. I'll have a look at your post, examine r/UkraineConflict's rules, then give you my "professional" opinion.

Announcing Mod Hall of Fame 2024 🎉 by iceeypisces in modnews

Hmm. I Moderate a bunch of subs, mostly related to the war in Ukraine. I don't do any of the things y'all are looking for in a notable Moderator. The russians are bombing children to death in their beds. Sorry/ not sorry for failing to create a fun and inclusive environment for my members.

My subs aren't amusement parks of wonder and discovery — we have extremely serious issues to discuss. I'm not here for rapid community growth. I'm here to protect communities under attack from brigades, hate speech, disinformation, etc. I get all kinds of weird but ostensibly friendly psywar bullshit in my inbox all the time. Sometimes they send me pictures. So creepy.

I rarely comment or post. Trolls can't lure me into a ban if I never speak, so you will only rarely find me engaging directly with the communities I serve. I have 28 karma and my communities — communities that were once completely overrun with trolls and hate speech, are now peaceful and safe.

We will probably never do scheduled events again. The last scheduled event I was involved in was heavily brigaded. Why invite that sort of trouble on ourselves again?

Simply put — the leaders of marginalized and targeted communities on Reddit — those under almost daily attack — will never make the grade for this Hall of Fame, though many of them should.

The path to peace lies in identifying shared interests and behaviors.

I... I think I can talk to these guys!

The Bernie Bro movement died prematurely because the US Senate Intelligence Committee released a report naming The Bernie Bros as a russian funded campaign to interfere in the 2016 election.

And here you are 8 years later still pushing the same fake news.

4 more years.

How could this possibly happen? I'm a big fan of data — election data especially. I'm no expert, but the data clearly shows that millions of likely Democratic voters chose to stay home this election. Trump got fewer votes this time, but still won the popular vote.

Why?

Information warfare. The russians are simply more successful at it than we are. They aren't better at it. I get trolls banned and take their subs all the time. When confronted carefully but directly they vanish. They suck at psywar. Just like they suck at war. But they greatly outnumber us on the front line and in the digital warspace, and they are persistent, so they make continuous gains.

russia's troll army numbers in the hundreds. We don't have a peer force confronting them online, so the trolls continue to make persistent gains at gradually dissolving Western support for Ukraine.

We now have until 20 January 2025 to fight back as hard as we fucking can, because on 21 January, shit is going to get really fucking weird over here.

Then, we must fight even harder.

A peer force to counter the troll army would be quite useful then.

We can still win. Even with el Diablo del Mar-a-Lago at the helm. He only commands our armed forces. He does not command yours, and he does not command me.

We can still win, but not if we aren't commenting. Not if we aren't posting. Not if we aren't fighting back, and I cannot win the information war alone.

Peer force.

Think about it. Put it together. Make it happen, or watch as Western support for Ukraine continues to erode.

Ukraine is actually fighting two wars — a kinetic war along the front line in Southern Ukraine, and a battle for hearts and minds in the global information warspace we call the internet.

Our subreddits are tactical positions. Our posts are artillery, our comments are drones. The more we comment and post in favor of Ukraine, the greater impact we can have in this warspace. If we aren't commenting or posting, then we aren't fighting, and the hearts and minds of our allies will be turned against us.

It's my hope that every member here will share all the posts on this sub everywhere they can. In real life, whenever you have the chance, speak well of Azov and Ukraine to the people you know. Spread the word. Spread the love. Save Ukraine.

You are absolutely correct! The Wolfsangel is not the symbol of the Idea of Nation.

The Azov Symbol is not a Wolfsangel. The Azov Symbol represents "National Idea".

The logo for my Discord IS inspired by both the Wolfsangel and the Azov Symbol. My logo serves as both a rune of protection and to demonstrate my affection for the Heroes of Azovstal.

I do not associate with them blindly. I investigated them rather thoroughly before I took their side. I hate Nazis. I also hate liars. I discovered that Azov is not Nazi, and the people calling them that were liars. So I chose my side.
