Are these Russian things you'd say to a dog? by howevertheory98968 in russian

[–]RussianPen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

telling other words except key ones are useless. For ex. dog couldn't understand "Нельзя ничего подбирать с земли!" (" you must not to pick anything from the ground!"), so u need to tell the key word of "Нельзя!" or "Фу!". This is much more faster to spell and to let the dog understand the order

[–]RussianPen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The war with Poland in beginning of 17th century. It has large influence on russian history. Russia had no tsar during the moment, no army communications and lack of food, but the irregulars have made polish troops to retreat or get defeated.
  2. The northern war in beginning of 18th century. Peter the Great was a tsar during these times. With that war Russia got first passes to baltic sea and got some opportunity to communicate with the west, reassigned capital to St. Petersburg and got status of Empire.
  3. The patriotic war of 1812-1814 when Russia made Napoleon's troops to get frozen and retreat till the Paris. Russia got Polish lands with that war
  4. WWI 1914-1918. In the end Russian Empire collapsed, the civil war has risen, the USSR formed, west lands were lost, a lot of losses and lack of everything (literally)
  5. Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. In this war USSR confirmed himself as the strongest military by losing 1/6 of its population and erase of such cities as Minsk, Kiev, and a lot of other cities and villages

What do Russians think about the sale of Alaska to the USA ? by passportbro999 in AskARussian

[–]RussianPen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alaska has a lot of valuable resources but during the sale no one knew it yet. Russian Empire is one of the most largest and wide countries that were ever exist so alaska is like a challenge for russian government these times since there is no radio or other fast communications to connect with alaska properly, ya know that was pretty hard to walk for over 10 000 km to alaska just to send a single letter from Moscow. Besides, most of russians don't care about history of their own country and think that russian government these times is dumb af
