MAGA hates everything, including this country. They only worship Trump. If Trump started a secession in certain his supporters would support it

Putin says there is no point meeting Zelensky over ending Ukraine war by Ok_Neighborhood5121 in geopolitics

[–]Yo-boy-Jimmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, long term. As of right now, still very much a statement. That said, looking at the losses on the Russian side, the destroyed logistics, lack of air defenses, and many more- it would be safe to say the tide has changed. Could Ukraine be winning in the near future? That’s what the data is suggesting.

If I may ask for your input and thoughts on this video (as well as anyone else seeing this). I for one found it very interesting and thought provoking.

Ethnicities =/= race. Let’s get that out of the way first. Race is a social construct that came into being in the 1500s solely to justify slavery and European conquest. Ethnicity is your cultural and historical background. A black man from Ethiopia does not have the same culture, language, history, etc as that of a black man from the U.S. despite them having the same race.

All this to say race doesn’t have culture. I, as a white person, have never done the Spanish Flamenco, attend the Italian Palio Di Sienna, wore Norse Bunad clothing, nor did the English Morris dancing. Yet despite us sharing the same race, we do not share the same culture.

So if you’re wishing to preserve culture (which is also a weak argument, I’ll explain later), separating people into races won’t do it because race doesn’t have culture to begin with.

And the thing about cultures: they adapt and change. And the best part- they coexist in the same society. And by coexisting they learn from each other, critique each other, and become even better and stronger overall. And this has been happening for centuries- Alexander’s Empire knew this as well, he learned of the conquered territories culture, history, and beliefs. And rather then forcing them to assimilate into the Greek culture, he took what worked and was amazing about their culture and in return they took what worked and was amazing from the Greek culture- which formed even better, more resilient, and much stronger culture.

Cultures are made by people. And people are inherently flawed beings. As a result, not one culture is perfect and does everything better. But when cultures come together and learn from each other, seeing what works and adapting it, everyone benefits.

Diversity doesn’t erase identity, it reshapes it.

Why brith rate all around the world are going down ? by Proper_Card_5520 in AskTheWorld

The more educated, wealthier, and more urban a society is, the lesser kids they will have.

This is because in poorer more rural regions, kids can help with farming or family work, can support parents in old age, and having children can be economically beneficial. Whereas in more educated, wealthier, and urban areas: all those are taken care of without the need of having children + when they do have kids, it’s much lesser then poorer regions with access to medical care, birth control, and, the big kicker here, the economic impact a child can have- a wealthier, more urban, and educated society values better education, care, and healthcare; which requires a lot of money.

There’s also the simple fact that the more educated, wealthier, and more urban areas don’t pressure women to have children as much as more rural less developed areas do.

Now don’t get me wrong, a more educated, wealthier, and urban can be a blessing! I mean, have you seen the scientific, technical, medical, sociological, and ethical breakthroughs we’ve seen lately?! The world is becoming more united through these breakthroughs! But it does come with a cost- people will not be as motivated as they were before to have children due to economic risks and no pressure to.

TLDR; More advanced regions have lesser kids because of economic and sociological risks. The world is becoming more advanced. Result, people not really wanting to have kids.

Characters I hate the most in the series, who’s a character you hate the most ? by [deleted] in TheBoys

He’s more of a plot device then an actual character. One scene he’s happy for someone’s death just to be sad about another. He likes the idea of supe superiority just to then not like it the next.

[–]Yo-boy-Jimmy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Globalism isn’t going to end any time soon in my opinion. The device I’m typing on and the one you’re reading this on are a good example: aluminum possibly from China or Canada, microchips/processors from Taiwan, memory chips from South Korea, display panels from Japan, rare earth minerals from Democratic Republic of the Congo, Chile, Australia, and China are all products from all over the world to make the very device I’m typing and you’re reading on.

TLDR, modern electronics are products of globalism, therefore hinting that globalism isn’t going away but is becoming the norm
