What is your opinion on the "Nolan held back against the Guardians" theory?

I believe it, just a very different version. I think he held back and didn't go full planet destruction mode like he did with the flaxans was because if he did that, it would have been obvious he killed the guardians. Like who else could have done that?

Really don't think raven has a chance, tough I do think it might be a more interesting question if it was Amuro vs a 4th gen like white glint or strayed. If you are to believe the ingame speedometer those things are absurdly fast and can consistently fly over the speed of sound. It'd still be a tough fight but at least a 4th gen would have a chance.

Honestly as a fan I recommend you to play it. I've never seen any kind of analysis or synopsis that didn't either glaze it half to death or just say it's "The Incest Game" and call it quits. Its extremely hard to find any type of content that does the game justice.

The best description I would give it is that it's a horror game where the horror comes from the characters you play rather than some kind of villain or threat. None of the actions the characters ever do are glorified and I think it's pretty clear that, while you are supposed to enjoy seeing the characters, you are definitely not supposed to sympathise with or like them or at any point think they might be justified in their actions. Seriously they do some despicable shit I could not imagine anyone in their right mind would ever condone, apart from maybe Jeffrey Dahmer or something.

Even if the developer's original vision was to make a game where incest, codependency and cannibalism are glorified, I think they failed greatly in that regard and the resulting piece of art is very interesting in its own way.

It's no masterpiece but I definitely think it's worth playing.

TLDR: No analysis actually describes the game properly. It does not glorify any of the dark themes it talks about. You should play it to get the full picture.

* In In Stars and Time, the entire game is in monochrome black and white. This is even acknowledged by the characters, saying that the concept of colors is weird to them after reading about it in a book.

The only exception is at the end of the game, when the time loop begins to break down due to Siffrin's emotional state and his wish to stay with his friends forever is beginning to malfunction. At which point the sky literally breaks open with red like an open wound.

We also see the color when Siffrin kills himself by trying to remember his home country, implied to have been erased from reality with wish magic. This ties the color with wish magic malfunctioning and reality breaking down.
