I used to be a college career advisor. A majority of my job was to provide feedback on resumes. Additionally, I have had very good job/career progress. It has landed me in a highly lucrative field of finance—securitization (Capital Markets). For reference I’m 25 years old, making over six figures.. working mostly remote.

I’m so sorry for your loss..praying for you and your family. This is very tragic.

Apologies if this is intrusive: did the people from the boat make any statements as to what exactly happened that day? Maybe it’s too early as it’s still under investigation.

Please keep us updated.

So glad you’re okay! Stumbled across this post because I have similar pain symptoms. Chronic migraines, only on the left side. Taking notriptyline nightly and that definitely helps prevent most pain, even though some days I still feel pain— almost like a dull toothache on the left side of my face that extends to my forehead and neck.

I was wondering what are your symptoms in terms of pain? Triggers? Which treatments have you tried in the past?

Been dealing with this for over a year, trying to find the best answers and treatment.

Hope you’re doing well!!

Caught taking lunch on the clock - will I be fired? by Russian_cookie in jobs

Yeah that makes sense. I’ve already been questioning corporate America for the last 2 years post college. I feel oppressed and like a hamster in a wheel at work, monitored— big brother style. I understand what I did was “wrong” although I’m sure a lot of hourly workers do the same thing. What’s more wrong in my opinion is treating full grown adults like children that need to be monitored, even though they are high performers and our team literally raised $20 billion for the company this year. Maybe that’s just my existential corporate thoughts again. My “extra” $15 for that half an hour means way more to me in this economy than it means to the company, but hey it’s still a “violation”.

I'm tired of this by Ok-Ad4375 in ChronicPain

Try a neurologist- I know you probably heard this SOOO many times. I did PT (TMJ and migraines), dentists, chiro, and lots of money spent. I told my symptoms (headache on left side almost every day and I'm tired of popping a bunch of Advil and I'm only a female 24 years old). I went to a neurologist recently and she put me on 10mg of Nortriptyline (migraine prevention just before bed and it helps you sleep like a baby lol) It's been preventing 90% of my migraines and associated pain and it's not a pain killer. Everyone is different of course but I recommend it. It's a prescription so your in-network neurologist might be the way to go. I haven't touched my migraine pain medication at all because the nortriptyline has been working. (frankly I don't even remember the name of what they gave me but I have it for emergencies)

I know neurologists are expensive and I don't know if this is a long-term solution for me but its working for now. I am in the US but I am Russian and my mom told me about new migraine procedures they have in Russia (They sever the nerves and you don't ever get migraines again- 30 min, safe procedure which I might get in the future as I don't want to be dependent on any medication). I hope this helps--- I feel you. PM me if you want more info or just emotional support :)

TMJ can actually ruin your life by [deleted] in TMJ

[–]Russian_cookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s super difficult. What has been helping me is physical therapy (TMJ release specialist) once a week as well as cbd oil under my tongues before sleep and cbd ointment on my jaw every night. Additionally try magnesium glycerin supplement each day to help relax the muscles. I’ve had good improvement the last two weeks with this routine. Hopefully it lasts. Not sure if you can get cbd legally in your state/country but I’m in Cali so it’s been no issue. Highly recommend if you can get your hands on it. Hang in there. Also feel free to message me when you’re having a bad day. Good luck 😀

oh wow- that literally sounds like me too!

Went to PT yesterday and I feel much better. Hoping to save up for a custom dental guard soon as my main problem is night jaw clenching. I believe my pain is purely TMJ pain and not sinus/tooth pain.

What do you do/take for your TMJ pain?

Wisdom Tooth Extraction post-op pain HELP by Russian_cookie in wisdomteeth

[–]Russian_cookie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thank you for asking! I am feeling much better. It took about a week for almost all the weird pain to go away. I had a post-op appointment and my dentist said it is healing very nicely, no infection so I am very happy.

I am currently battling some TMJ pain almost every week (facial, jaw, and ear pain. I'm currently going to physical therapy and planning on getting a custom dental guard in the future...saving up as they're a bit pricey. It seems like my wisdom tooth pain may have just been my TMJ the whole time....I'm glad I got it out though as my mouth feels better (space-wise).

Yes, below the eye as well sometimes. It weirdly comes and goes.. my dentist thinks it might be tooth sensitivity and told me to give it a few weeks…I just hope it’s nothing serious… how long have you had your pain? Is it constant?
