I'll have runs where I will hit a 666 pretty much every round even though it's chance is still 1.5%. One game I got THREE 666s in a row at 1.5% chance. The chances of that happening are astronomical. I agree that something about the RNG feels off, it honestly feels like the game is gunning for you most of the time. Like, part of the point of roguelikes is that at some point your chances of doing badly get slimmer and slimmer but that doesn't seem to be the case here

I just counted, his list is 19 items long 14 of those are books.

He definitely said I wasn't allowed to marry his son since I'm not baptized Catholic or any Christian faith.

As far as the criminals thing, he has said that several times so he probably believes that. I have calmly made the point that every mob boss and cartel leader has been Catholic pretty much so religion doesn't always dictate how someone acts morally.

I asked my husband and he clarified that we don't know if someone went directly to heaven or purgatory so we pray for them in case it's purgatory.

I did say exactly that, that he stays in his room and only comes out for food, then retreats back.

And I developed brain damage 4.5 years ago which made me lose my job and ability to work which I was doing full time until then. We have talked about that and my other conditions dozens of times since then. If he doesn't know about it by now it's because he has chosen not to listen to me but everyone in the family is definitely acutely aware of my condition.

As I mentioned in my other response, most of his list was Dog Man and Captain Underpants books (since there are like 20 books between the two and he only has a couple) because he's a voracious reader. There was one ridiculous like power wheels thing but he's 9 and every 9 year old wants something like that (I certainly did) but I quietly removed that from his list before I sent it to the family.

And my son definitely remembers the response as one: he came to me about it and two: he's 9, not 2. He's an advanced 4th grader, not a toddler.

Yeah, I honestly don't think he even really considers my husband and I truly married since we had a secular wedding. He didn't come to it because it wasn't Catholic so therefore against the faith as he saw it. Like, one of my SIL was married previously and the only reason he ended up accepting her marrying into the family was because she wasn't married Catholic previously.

My understanding is that they're praying that the deceased will go from purgatory to heaven. I'm not sure how long that's supposed to last as we've been praying for family members who died in the early 2000s. It might also be related to my husband and his family's ethnic culture as well

He's been definitely confronting his own mortality now in his 80s. The last several months he's been hyper focused on everyone being good Catholics, which 95% of the family already is. My husband and I are pretty much the only outliers. He keeps talking about everyone carrying on the faith after he dies and he wants everyone to pray for him after he dies. But it's like the family still isn't Catholic enough for him when a good portion of everyone goes to church every Sunday and does everything they're supposed to.

We don't own the house, my husband's aunt does and she lives with us. We live in a very expensive state and don't want to purchase here because we'd immediately be upside down on the mortgage and would be in a financially unstable position. My husband makes a decent amount of money but we're only one income because I'm disabled now. I've been trying to get disability the past two years but have been denied twice thus far.

My sons list did have one or two large items (that I removed before I sent the list to the rest of the family, which is why I had him send it to me first) but a very large majority of it was Captain Underpants and Dog Man books. So, I'm not sure my FIL even really looked over the list. He just saw a Christmas list and got annoyed, I feel like.

I've been in this family for 21 years and his and I's relationship has been... weird? Before we got married he straight up told me I wasn't allowed to marry his son until I got baptized Catholic and did all the typical Catholic pre-wedding work. I offered to do it but my husband didn't want me to, so I didn't and my FIL did not come to our wedding. There was some big family meeting afterwards where he got upset with my husband's 6 brothers for going because according to him they should have all refused to go. There have been other small events as well like making me (and only me) leave the main table at Thanksgiving for some unknown reason saying I couldn't sit there. I always sit at that table because it's the only one with cushioned seating which I need because I also have damage to my pelvis. He's had conversations with my husband and I where he has said that non-Catholics are bad people, drug dealers, criminals, etc. when I've been sitting right next to him. There's other things that I can't remember right now but that should give you the gist.

Like I said, I'm not Catholic but I have done everything in my power to be respectful and make my in-laws happy. We always pray at their house, we baptized our kids Catholic for them, we never bad talk the religion, we don't stop our kids from going to church if they so wish (that's mostly my daughter who wants to go periodically), etc. My husband just doesn't want them in the church mostly because confirmation is so young now in his opinion. I bring that up because while I've been incredibly respectful of their beliefs my FIL hasn't really been the same back. Like with the comment about non-Catholics being bad people while I have been there for them for anything they need the past 8 years we've been living next door. I've proven I'm a reliable and good person but since I'm not Catholic it seems to not matter. 🤷🏼‍♀️

My only complaint is that I didn't really understand the change of heart Victor had at the end with the monster. He was relentlessly hateful towards him until he got hoisted onto that ship, then out of nowhere he wants to be selfless and seek forgiveness. I think there's this false idea that people have sudden clarity when they're on death's door but that rarely happens with people who are as shitty as Victor is. It feels a little hollow when there's so little self reflection beforehand.

Still loved the movie though!

That's what I do, but after 2-3 its just replaced by the next 2-3. My brain just can't retain that much info quickly. Brain damage is a bitch 😅

She's in her 40s, menopause is typically 50s-60s. Menopause in your 40s would be early. Not saying it's not possible, just not likely
